We had our very first visit to any Five Guys anywhere today and thoroughly enjoyed it. As ever, I was overwhelmed by the menu (this is any menu, not just Five Guys...their menu is straightforward) so opted for a 'all in' cheeseburger, regular fries and a water.
Our bag arrived with piping hot contents, 1.5 tonnes of fries and everything was really well packaged. There was plenty of serviettes (which was good as they're essential) and vinegar and tomato sauce are available. Everything was excellent, fresh and really delicious. I was pleasantly surprised! Definitely lived up to the hype.
Everyone there was cleaning everything in sight for the duration of our visit and I was pleased to see the Manager speak to a member of staff who, although cleaning vigorously, was scraping the chairs across the floor which gave the venue a school canteen feel. However, he noticed this spoke to him and it was soon rectified - thanks for this, it was getting annoying 😂.
I didn't use the facilities however, they are disability friendly.
There is a clear queuing system to order and extremely attentive and well-trained (and patient with people who are new and indecisive) staff.

Read moreFirst visit at the new five guys in Gloucester quays not been before to the chain but expected good things.
Between 2 adults and 2 children we had 3 main meals, chips and drinks and it was all great. My bacon cheeseburger all the way was great, best burger I've had for a while!
The chip portions are big too, 2x regular portions was too many for all of us so a large between a small family would probably suffice and save some money.
Milkshake was good and unlimited soda is good because you can pick and mix on your flavours of drinks, coke, Fanta etc.
Service was polite and quick with the shop being clean although we were literally order number 3 as we were very early in so can't comment once it gets busy.
Price, I went in expecting it to be expensive and it is. You get McDonald's quick and efficient fast food service at a restaurant price BUT the quality is good. Our complete meal came to over £40 and we're all stuffed although this is very much a rare treat to a regular thing.
I'd definitely go again and try a hot dog I think as they looked good too.
Can't give 5 stars because of the price but I hope it stays around and keeps on delivering...
Read moreWay too expensive still. Food is nice though and the shakes are to die for.
To give you a rough idea of prices.... £9 for a cheese burger, £7 for a little cheese burger, £6 for a hotdog, £4 for regular fries, £4 for refillable soft drink and £6 for a milkshake. Obviously there are more expensive options too.
Freestyle machine needed cartridges changing as there were a few flavours not available. My kids love orange fanta and there was none except fanta zero available.
Chips weren't exactly warm but there were plenty for 3 of us to share.
If it was more affordable you'd make regular customers out of a lot of people.
Very quiet and a few tables used and only the odd one or two to choose to sit at.
Didn't take that long to be prepared. In fact, food was ready before shakes.
Burgers are good, optional toppings are free.
Five guys need to work on more sustainable packaging. Using foil to wrap burgers and hotdogs must be expensive but also not ideal for the environment. Even setting up a bin system where the foil, lids, cardboard cups and straws could be recycled like dare I say it McDonalds do and Burger King with their attempts at...
