A few months ago, I had the pleasure of visiting this establishment with my family, and we had a fantastic time. The food served was of exceptional quality, although slightly on the expensive side. However, the price was justified as there was no compromise when it came to the taste and overall dining experience. One dish that stood out was the calamari, which was both fresh and incredibly tasty. Another unique and enjoyable item on the menu was the cosseted Cotte fresh mussels with cheese, a combination I had not previously encountered. While it was different, I found it to be quite nice. The risotto, on the other hand, was average and did not particularly align with my personal taste preferences. However, the spaghetti was a delightfully creamy and top-notch dish. Lastly, the steak was good, although it was slightly undercooked for my liking.

A resolution was offered and accepted, and we truly appreciate the prompt and considerate response. Thank you for handling this matter so quickly and respectfully. We’ve been here before and really enjoyed it, which is why we decided to return. This time we booked a larger table, so we had to pre-order. The food came out incredibly quickly — normally that’s not a problem — but there was no pause at all between starters and mains. Some dishes even looked like they had been sitting under the hot lamps for a while. We were also celebrating a special occasion and asked on arrival if it was okay to bring our own cake. We were told it was fine and even received a “congratulations,” which was lovely. However, when dessert time came, we asked for the cake, and after the staff cleared our cutlery, they returned to say we couldn’t have it after all. I understand there are policies in place, but it would’ve helped to be told this when we arrived, rather than at the end of the meal. Topolys Italian Gloucester offered an outstanding dining experience that exceeded all expectations. When my wife booked a table for thirteen, we knew it would be special, and it truly was. The staff were nothing short of perfect—friendly, attentive, and professional, making us feel welcomed and cared for throughout the evening.

The authentic Italian cuisine was exceptional. Every dish reflected genuine flavors and traditional techniques, with fresh ingredients that truly transported us to Italy. The menu had a great variety, but the highlight was definitely the carbonara. It was, without a doubt, the best-tasting carbonara I’ve ever had. The pasta was perfectly cooked, coated in a rich, creamy sauce with just the right balance of smoky pancetta and sharp Pecorino Romano cheese.

The ambiance was warm and inviting, creating an ideal setting for our celebration. The staff’s attention to detail and genuine friendliness made the night even more memorable. From the moment we arrived to the last bite, everything was flawless. Our guest was 70 that day, and Topolys made it extra special for her.
