I came here for dinner with a friend. We ordered; crab arancini, scallop & prawn duo, olives & sun-dried tomato, bread platter. For mains catch of the day - Bream whole fish with new potatoes and chimichurri, and Moroccan spiced lamb shoulder. For dessert chocolate brownie with raspberry sorbet, cheesecake brulee. Starters - were nice with the exception of the crab arancini which was over cooked to the point of being brittle, this was brought up to the waitress who took it away and swapped it for lovely fresh arancini which came back just how it should have come out. Very nice! Mains - lamb was quite tasty but appeared to be lacking the tabbouleh but still a very nice dish. The bream well.... Was cooked nicely on one side but very overcooked on the other, the " new potatoes" that came with the meal turned out not to be fresh boiled new potatoes but seemed again to be over cooked deep fried new potatoes (who deep fries new potatoes??) Desserts - the cheesecake was very nice but the brownie was very oily. Staff - friendly and helpful but seemed a little rushed on (it was a Saturday evening). As an additional note we asked for wine and water once seated the wine was provided and poured but the water didn't turn up until 20 mins late and after re-asking the staff. We were told our dessert would be discounted off the bill but once presented the full amount was charged, until contested then after a short period of time the manager agreed too. Final note. Don't think I will be coming back.

I invariably arrive by sea at this wonderful shoreside hostelry. The marina staff give us a close in berth once we have told them we are heading for The Creek. Then once in and seated we had great service from Katie and Evie who were engaging and very helpful with menu choices. If memory serves me right we had three of the small platters (prawns mmmmmm, squid mmmm and the pulled pork croquettes mmmm). Rarely when giving reviews do I mention the food, for me it’s all about service and once again I have to say I’m very happy to pay for good professional service with a smile. On this occasion I will mention the food. The squid came with an elderflower and mint jelly, almost a clear gel like makeup with a light green tint throughout the translucent side bowl. The taste…. I’m no master chef critic, far from it. Absolutely amazing, remember we’re on a small water front bar in Hampshire - this was a taste sensation. I’ll stop gushing and recommend that you visit personally. And all of you thinking to go there, if you eat at The Creek, the berthing is free. Now that is a waterborne incentive. Thanks to the team for a great lunch.

Best Bank Holiday treat I’ve had in a long time. Literally amazing, beautiful ambience, stunning views, tasty food and beautifully presented and fantastic service. Special mention to Fran who served us and discussed the restaurant and how it’s doing. I am SO pleased there is somewhere for me at last in Gosport. I have been quite fed up lately that I have to go to Portsmouth or London and beyond to experience class and quality particularly when I work out of town as well. I truly hope and pray this wonderful place is successful and stays open for years to come. Wishing you every success and I look forward to coming back for a buzzy Saturday night soon. Bravo to The Creek at Haslar.. ♥️

Booked for an overnight stay to meet up with family, 2 rooms booked and both were well equipped and comfortable,( little moan, one had complimentary biscuits, the other didn't. -minor point) Breakfast was not included in the £118 per night per room price but went over to the restaurant in the morning and had a lovely breakfast, the avocado on sourdough highly recommended.|| I booked the restaurant for a 6pm early evening meal with family as we had a long drive ahead. The place was busy but appeared to be well staffed. 3 of us ordered pork loin but the waitress came back to say only 2 were available so a seafood linguine was chosen instead - they still charged us for the 3rd non available pork loin. When the food arrived (and service was slow) the seafood linguine and one of the pork loins were cold and returned. As no pork loin was available the waitress offered to swap it for a steak (for which we were subsequently also charged!) Another one of the party commented on their dish being lukewarm but was too embarrassed to raise it.||Not a good start, the replacement steak took over 30 minutes and so all bar one of the party had finished their main course. during this time drinks were ordered but did not arrive and staff had to be chased. we were told the drinks would be complimentary due to the issues (but again we were subsequently charged!) ||When it came to desserts a chocolate BROWNIE was ordered, a glass of BRANDY arrived ! The waitress came back and said to have the brandy on the house (yes you've guessed it, we were subsequently charged!!) ||What was meant to be an early meal to allow travelling took over 3 hours to be provided including the really embarrassing part at the end having to go through the bill item by item to highlight the various overcharges made (we did not quibble about the "complimentary drinks"). ||Service was really slow, the over charging of @£70's worth of items was embarrassing to have to deal with and the cold food was worrying. My wife has been violently sick during the night - and she had mussels main course, related ? whose knows???||||I booked the Creek because it seemed a great place to have a family catch up and an enjoyable evening over good food. We thought at one point we were being secretly filmed and Ant & Dec would suddenly appear! It was a catalogue of errors and at the end of the evening I asked if they had simply had a bad night but was told they had been busy. ||I found it really embarrassing having to return cold food, chase missing drinks and at the end of the evening having to go through the bill line by line for refunds, not the sort of experience I was expecting. ||||A bad night? I hope so, is my wife ill in bed due to food poisoning? I hope not, return again? I would love to but with trepidations?||||lovely location, lovely atmosphere, staff inattentive and...

Overpriced with a manger who needs some complaints handling training!

We visited here tonight for a family meal having previously experienced a good experience on mother’s day. However tonight’s experience was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival the staff explained that they were using an “explorer menu” over the Easter break, it created some confusion as the waitress also talked to us about the weekday menu and we were led to believe we could view that menu too. Having seen a very limited “explorer menu” we asked to see the weekday menu but this was not available.

We asked about any other vegetarian options as there were only two on the main dish part of the menu but were told the menu was as set. Two of us ordered the sea bass which in terms of the food taste was ok however our main complaint was the portion size of the fish and the whole meal. The seabass was priced at £19.50 but the fish was no more than a very thin 5 inches slice of fish. (Grown seabass is usually 50cm on average). In brief it was certainly not value for money, having experienced many seafood dishes in similar restaurants in the areas the dish was basically a rip off in terms of its quantity and pricing point.

We later spoke to the manager about our experience and explained how disappointed we were at the value of the meal. This was respectful and we highlighted that the staff / waitress was pleasant and that our feedback was not related to her service. Our view of the manager was that she is in need of complaint handling training. As business people ourselves one thing we understand is firstly a need to actually listen to customer feedback, accept it and then deal positively with their concerns. This manager did the entire opposite to what would be expected of a complaint resolution. She seemed more determined to defend the portion size, their restrictions in terms of their supplier and that each item on their menu was costed to the penny. My feedback to you directly is that you failed to listen, spent more time defending an indefensible customer experience and basically showed a ‘I don’t care attitude’ to the feedback you were being given. When told we would be making an online review, you said words to the effect of “well you have spoke to me now so it doesn’t matter”. I would be mortified if one of my own staff told a customer not to make a review after such a poor experience. My feedback to the owner is you need to review your portion size, your price points and train your staff to deal with customer complaint handling. This has been highlighted in a number of previous reviews so you are clearly not listening to your customers.

Lastly your toilet facilities need a good clean! We will not be a...
