Went to the artisan market at Hotwalls today and have to say we thoroughly enjoyed it.. It was a hot day so we thought parking might be an issue but with a blue badge you can park right outside. If the market is on accessibility is great but not much good if it's not. The artists are really helpful though and will do their best to assist. We purchased all sorts! From a beautiful decorated skull to a necklace. There were some brilliant singers when we went so that added to the wonderful atmosphere. It could do with more seating and a way to access the sea view by wheelchair but if you are able bodied you'll have some stunning views of Portsmouth harbour mouth. It's amazing to stand at the Hotwalls and think about the centuries of history.

The number one go to place for arts crafts and culture. Especially on the 3rd Sunday of each month when all the studios and the square tower and round tower are open at the same time, ensuring you get to see everything on offer. Studio 13 offers free taster sessions of marbling and Turkish Ebru and sells amazing pure silk scarves, cards and originals. The canteen does fantastic food and coffee and the beach is brilliant, overall the whole place is the best kept secret in Hampshire, the perfect destination for families, young, old and everything in between!

Hotwalls Beach, located behind The Hotwalls Studios Arts & Crafts charming boutique under arch gift shops, is a Lovely little pebble beach hidden away between historic armourments. As the name suggests it can often feel 5° above the actual temperature 🌡 due to environment and location. A lovely place to sunbath, chill, read a book... Weekend summer eves can get a bit lively, noisier, with groups of the younger generation coming to Hangout, BBQ's, Parties etc. But all in all a lovely place to while away the hours...🏖☆☆☆☆

Hotwalls Studios are a group of Workshop/retail spaces for artists and creators. The studios are provided by Portsmouth City Council on a time limited basis to allow the local community of Artists to flourish. It also ensures that there is a new and vibrant community every few years. As well as the studios, there are Markets held on the Plaza in front of the studios and regular exhibitions held undercover showcasing artists in residence as well as visiting artists.

Very well worth a visit. Check out the website and individual artists social media for opening times,...
