Curry Mecca — Restaurant in Gravesham

We ordered a takeaway form Curry Mecca last night. It was scheduled to be delivered at 18:45. After many attempts to call the restaurant to find out where our food was we did not receive it until 19:50 (over an hour from when the delivery was scheduled). They kept saying there was traffic delaying our delivery, but when the delivery driver eventually arrived, we asked and she said there was no traffic at all. It is believed that the restaurant forgot about our order and was putting the blame to someone else - not professional!

It was no shock to us the food was cold. I tried to call the restaurant to let them know it was cold and that I wanted a full refund but they did not answer. We then decided to just warm our food up in the microwave as my partner had a night shift so needed to go to bed early but that was delayed anyway. I eventually got hold of them and explained that it was not good enough to wait over an hour for food and for it then to be cold. They then proceeded to tell us we can get a full refunded if we bring the food back to them or it can be collected but it could take 3-5 working days to receive the refund. (Ironic how they demand for their food back but we do not get our money back immediately). We decided to return the food back ourselves directly to the restaurant to receive our money back immediately.

When we arrived at the restaurant they did not acknowledge why we was there, nor did they apologise until I brought up the fact that this whole situation was absolutely appalling. Even then did they not show much compassion for the stress, hunger and time wasting they caused us. I have been a loyal customer to the Mecca for a long time. Never will I go back and support your business as you did not offer any compensation for the atrocious evening they caused us. Not good enough, we expect...

Placed an order for four people this evening, took over an hour to receive order of which half of it was wrong. Called to complain and find out where our missing food was as half the order looked like it belonged to someone else, after forgetting to call us back and having to call them again they said the lost part of our order would be with us in a few minutes. It turned up still with stuff missing, and not warm at all, and the delivery driver then asked for the wrong bag of food back, we had opened to check the dishes as writing was illegible, my concern is was that wrong bag being redelivered to someone else's missing order? Half a naan bread turned up as well as half a bag of chips, had our missing order come from the persons order we had wrongly delivered !! The food here is amazing, I have been twice in the last 6 months (not local to me) and I would highly recommend. The guy greeted us with energy and enthusiasm, he is a delightful character who added to our experience. The poppadoms and sauces excited us to what was ahead. I eat curry fairly regularly but this is my first review of a curry house. The king prawns are actually what you'd expect a king prawn to look and taste like!! The flavours and spices are on point, the bread fresh and we'll made/cooked and all priced reasonably. Most importantly the morning after did not leave me asking questions as other stablishments have previously. Recommend this place, recommend it to people without having tried it... they will be...
