Absolutely ridiculous customer service. First time I’ve ever had to leave a review on a place because it’s simply that bad. 0 stars rating for the simple fact that I had taken my strip burger and chips home after the bag was stapled and not put in the correct brown boxes they use. Opened my food and I have a burger with only cheese and no lettuce or sauce of any kind after I specified chilli, not cheese. I called the shop and no one answered. I went back to the shop and then was told to keep the previous items as they would be thrown. The man serving me made me keep the chips they already gave me which was only half full in the bag and then gave me a portion even smaller on top of that. At the end I asked for a peri mayo and the man tried charging me 40p after I had already got home and went back there. He didn’t bother to give me salt or offer any peri salt. Regardless of that effort and the inconvenience they caused me at 12 o’clock in the night he stated to me “you don’t have to come back tomorrow” and now I most certainly won’t. Burger bun and chicken strips are as cold as can be even after going back there and returning home straight away. Like the other review says, try bennys next door… it’s better than dealing with that level of incompetence. Btw it won’t let me do 0 stars but I’m giving it 0. Will be speaking to the manager to establish whether this review remains here or not depending on what’s done.

Stumbling home at 1:30AM and in desperate need of food I foolishly walked into chickies. I was met with an array of combo meals and each option was as disgusting as the next. I patiently waited before being called to the front and was met with a warm smile as the waiter handed me a combo 5. Little did I know that I was being handed a bag of poison. I was hoping that in exchange for my stomach falling apart the next day that I would at least experience some degree of quality in the food. Dry fried chicken that had been left out all day with cardboard chips is certainly not what I signed up for. On the contrary, the Fanta I ordered was of expected standard. I ordered a wings meal and fried wings online. The website said it would be ready for collection in 10 minutes, so I placed the order 10 minutes earlier to account for parking restrictions on Albany Road. However, when I arrived at the shop 15 minutes later, the food still wasn’t ready. I was told I would need to wait another 20 minutes.

I was really annoyed — it ended up taking over 30 minutes, and I had to sit in the shop the whole time. Fortunately, I didn’t get a parking ticket.

To make things worse, the fried chicken wings were extremely salty and inedible — we had to throw them away.
