We came here on our first night in Cardiff on a weekend trip from London. We expected a lot based on the glowing reviews here but were disappointed. The food is OK, by no means was it exceptional or fantastic as others claimed here on Google. If this is the best halal burger joint in Cardiff then sorry to say but you got a lot of catching up to do with London!! The best part of the Ladz meal we had was the large portions, they're very generous and use good ingredients. Prices were also good. And importantly the meat is halal. Those were the positives. We had a beef smash burger and chicken peri peri burger with curly fries and spicy fries. The staff member forgot to call us to collect our order even though we were sitting in the near empty restaurant the whole time. The food must have been sitting bagged for a while as it was cold and soggy by the time we got it. The buns were chewy and had a strange taste that overpowered the taste of the meat. The cheese wasn't properly melted into the smash burger and the beef wasn't flavourful. It didn't have that caramelised crusty char on the meat that you usually get on a good smash burger. It didn't have much sauce or seasoning on it either. The chicken burger was better. It was literally a huge whole grilled breast and good quality meat but it kept sliding out of the burger with each bite. It would be better if they sliced the breast into two thinner fillets to get more flavour and sauce coverage. The fries would have probably been phenomenal if they'd been given to us hot as they're thick cut and well seasoned, sadly we will never know as we got them cold and soggy. Enjoyed the Algerian dipping sauce, this is hard to come by in London. Other people seemed to come for takeaway milkshakes only, they seemed happier. We...

After reading the amazing reviews for The Ladz Cardiff, we decided to visit. There were several other halal food spots on the same road, but this one stood out due to its highly rated reviews.

The staff at the counter were welcoming and polite.

We ordered: Half a grilled chicken (lemon and herb) Two peri peri burgers One classic chicken burger

The half chicken was tasty, but the peri peri burgers were dry and cold.

The classic burger wasn’t as expected. It consisted of four chicken strips inside a bun that was falling apart.

The chips were a generous portion at £2.50, though I noticed there were no fries on the menu.

The place was busy, so maybe we picked the wrong food items. However, food quality should be consistent regardless of how busy the restaurant is or what’s ordered.

I was surprised that the restaurant has such fantastic reviews, yet we were disappointed with most of the food. We paid a total of £41.

Reviews also mentioned that staff check on customers at their tables, but we didn’t experience this. While there were a few tables, we didn’t see any staff coming out to check if customers were okay. I complained about the classic chicken burger consisting of four chicken strips, and the response I received was, “I’m sorry, I should have mentioned this to you when you ordered.” We were expecting one piece of chicken breast.

While this spot may be a favorite among locals and students, it didn’t meet our expectations.

If it’s your first time visiting the area, there are plenty of other halal food places on the same road...

Ahhh the ladzzzz. !! We walked in to a beautiful decorated joint where the staff immediately greeted us. as it was our first time they were super helpful With their recommendations. The food was delicious the service was fast the chicken and lamb was juicy tender and fresh, the sauce we went for hot - was perfect …. The only negative but could be a positive was we were just too full for desserts xx. Generous portion size and lots of sauce. The sweetcorn was so buttery and sweet !! X Thank you to all the lovely team / staff at the ladz for looking after us leaving us planning a nx trip Back soon xxx we also had the pleasure of meeting the boss who was so proud of the staff and the love of his branch and the love he puts into his food xx extra special touch he bought us watermelon and mint tea !! I visited this place with my wife after retail therapy in St David’s Centre Cardiff. We were a bit apprehensive at first as we’re thinking wonder if it’s just another peri place. To our amazement we were welcomed by a lovely young lady with a beaming smile. I had lamb chops hot spice and it was absolutely amazing. The sauce they have conjured up and are using is second to none. My wife had the chicken in pitta medium. She was also amazed with the size and taste of it. We will certainly be paying a visit with our friends soon so they can try for themselves. Trust me please give them a try and hopefully you will not be disappointed.

I recently visited Ladz Restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The ambiance was really nice, creating a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere. I ordered the double chicken breast burger meal with curly fries, and both were fresh and tasty. The meal was satisfying and well-prepared. I was served by Neeraj, who was friendly and humble. His excellent service added to the overall positive experience. The service was quick and fantastic, making my visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Ladz Restaurant for anyone looking for great food and excellent service. Plus, they offer a 15% student discount!

I’ve been a regular at The Ladz in Cardiff for over a year, and it’s become my go-to spot for delicious, healthy meals. What really makes The Ladz special is their staff, particularly Yamini & Neeraj. Their friendly service and attention to detail enhance every visit. The restaurant’s commitment to quality ingredients, cleanliness, and convenient dining options (eat-in, takeaway, and delivery) make it a top choice in Cardiff. If you’re craving tasty peri peri or burgers, The Ladz is definitely worth a visit!
