Cyclo 3.1 Banh Mi — Restaurant in Great Britain

This lovely little place is a very welcome addition to Durham's food scene. I had a classic Bahn Mi, - a crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, baguette stuffed with with Vietnamese pork sausage, loads of fresh mint, coriander, shredded carrots and mayo. Really tasty and a generous portion - it will do me for two lunches. I also tried the iced coffee which was strong and sweet.

The prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I can't wait to return and try the other Bahn mi options which include grilled pork, grilled chicken and tofu...

Cute little spot on North Road. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had the chicken (UFO) and tofu mushroom (Chay). The chicken was moist, and the tofu mushroom had a wonderful flavour. However, we both agreed we'd happily pay more for more filling (or even more salad), and the salad would have been nice pickled like other bahn mis we've had to add an acidic element. Having said this, for the quality and freshness we'll likely be back again as it is great value for money (£6 for chicken, and £5 for tofu...

Close, but not quite right. A very tasty sandwich but the flavours just weren't there. It's clear though that the staff have tried really hard. The hodge podge of baguettes (including tiger/giraffe) made it feel more thrown together. I'm sure in coming weeks/months if a local source for traditional Vietnamese baguettes can be found this place could be amazing. Their coffee though... Strong, flavourful and really hit the spot! Also, cash only for now, maybe a sign...
