Fifty Six Restaurant 北街五十六号 — Restaurant in England

I've had many people recommend this restaurant to me. After seeing it was on Uber Eats my partner and I decided to order in from them. We ordered honey chilli chicken, salt and pepper crispy beef, chips, house special fried rice and the mixed starters. The good arrived quickly but we were so disappointed. The honey chilli chicken was quite soggy and chewy, the sauce was very spicy (which we like), it had a definite taste of honey but no sweetness. The crispy salt and pepper beef had very little flavour and was so dry it was like eating shards of plastic. The chips looked like they had been reheated. The starters, well, the crispy seaweed was not at all crispy, the spring rolls had no taste and the wrapper wad really thick so no crunch their either. The prawn toasts looked old, and didn't taste great. The chicken skewers were also pretty tough and very dry in places and the ribs were mostly fat. The house Special fried rice was just plain awful, greasy and had a queer smell/taste. We did eat most of it, it was edible just disappointing . If it wasn't for the fact that neither of us have eaten since breakfast 12 hours ago we probably wouldn't have eaten as much as we did. The rice went in the bin along with most of...

We booked for my friends birthday, and they were very good with booking us a nice private room for our group of 16.

However, the experience was less than pleasant. I understand that there were 16 of us, however 2 of our noodle dishes didn’t come so 2 people didn’t have anything to eat. 3 of us also ordered fried rice as a side, and they gave us large bowls of chicken fried rice which they charged us the full price for even though we told them it was not correct- and they were unhelpful unfortunately.

In addition, the actual food was unfortunately quite plain and dry. All the rice was cold and the chicken wasn’t even cut up. The pork belly dish didn’t even had any meat and just contains the fat- it was gross.

Ordered £56 worth of food to be delivered. Lemon Chicken - reheated chewy and soggy, Utterly disgusting, went into the bin. House special curry - £13 8 smalls bit of meat, filled out with huge pieces of chunky peppers. No taste at all so gross. Refried chewy cold damp salt and pepper chips.
