Disappointingly Upon being seated we where told that the mussels which was the main we came for was not available. We decided to stay and ordered the sea bass taco x 3 for starters, this was fantastic full of flavour and very well priced. As we are big fans of shell fish and the hot platter isn’t currently available, and now neither the mussels we where lucky that the special was lobster. So we ordered whole lobster baked in garlic butter, and a seafood chowder. The lobster was well presented, perfect and ready to eat mess free which is always a bonus. However the chowder seemed to lack any quantity of fish for the price and the bowl we where provided with to put the clam shells in was manky. Covered in chips and stains inside. Quite off putting really. The restaurant in general appears very clean and tidy but I found it lacked a relaxing atmosphere. Upon booking I requested a window table. I wasn’t however expecting to look out the window directly into a marquee….. the staff where very polite and attentive, and our main waiter was a lovely gent. Upon leaving I wanted to look in the shop for some items to take home but the light was too low to read or properly view anything so left with nothing. I think i will stick with the Anglesey restaurant in future. I find it’s much nicer in general.

The linguine was too soft and lacked the al dente texture I was expecting, with the flavor also being too light and not meeting my expectations. The soup was good, but the salmon cubes didn’t seem as fresh as I’d hoped. However, the ice cream was brilliant! The lemon and blueberry flavors were incredibly refreshing, and the vanilla ice cream wasn’t overly sweet, making it really enjoyable. Regarding the tiramisu, it truly stood out compared to the usual versions. Typically, after a few bites of tiramisu, the sweetness becomes overwhelming, making it hard to finish. However, this one was exceptionally smooth, with the sweetness perfectly balanced. I suspect they might have reduced the sugar in the recipe compared to traditional versions. This adjustment, combined with its silky texture, made it much easier to enjoy without feeling too rich or heavy. Although the flavors of the coffee liqueur and chocolate powder weren’t as pronounced, this actually worked in its favor. The subtlety allowed the dessert to shine without being overpowering, making it a delightful treat that didn’t overwhelm the palate. The careful balance of sweetness and smooth texture made it far more enjoyable than the overly sweet, dense tiramisus typically found elsewhere.

Got an idea that this is one of the best a decent restaurant in the area. So give it a trial tonight. Something I need I have to alert the manager that food preparation needs a second look. Tonight we had three dishes, a soup of the day, mussel and dirty pork. I'd give a 5*. Nevertheless, we found the mussel and the soup, yes, the soup, were too sandy to take. The soup was more on the salty side as well. We told the young lady about the sandy mussel. She quickly apologised, explained and offered to change. That's highly appreciated. I took half of the soup already so I didn't bother to let her know about it's problem. It's quite common in UK to have food cooked with sand for some... health reason? for better digestion? No, just kidding. It's about the food preparation. That's really not a difficult job to allow the mussel to spell all sand out and to wash thoroughly the root of the leeks. Blender can't blend the sand into tasty smoothie unless there's a miracle. We replaced the mussel with seabass tacos which was average as we'd expect. Tonight the restaurant was not even a quarter full so there shouldn't be any excuse for the food quality.

I was not going to write a review but as you sent an email requesting one, here you go: We have lived in the area for just over 2 years and had always heard good this about Dylans, so when my daughter came up to visit we tried to think of somewhere nice to take her. What a mistake.... We arrived before 8pm and there were maybe 4 other tables. We ordered drinks and then our meals. We shared the garlic bread and waited for our main courses, and we waited and we waited. Eventually the waiter came up and said sorry for the delay but the chef had been really busy (4 tables?) but our food would be out shortly. I had been so looking forward to my "MOULES MARINIÈRE" "Mussels have been a constant on our menu since we first opened our doors in 2012. Originally sourced from the Menai Strait, we’re now working with growers 79 miles north in Morecambe Bay, due to significant fishing challenges in our own waters.Grown in a very similar environment, in the intertidal waters of the Irish, or Celtic sea, they’re as plump and tasty as their Welsh cousins. We hope you enjoy these delicious delicacies." Oh my god they were the worst mussels I have ever had the displeasure to be at the same table with. "as plump and tasty as their Welsh cousins" - each one looked like a dehydrated grey baked bean. To be fair the sauce tasted nice with the bread whilst I waited for the waitress to come and ask if everything was ok with our meals - she didn't... After about 10 minutes I called over a different waitress who was cleaning down all the other tables so they could make a quick escape (we were now the last table in the restaurant at 9.30pm). I said that the mussels were not good and I would not be eating them. She apologised and said she would have a word with the chef. After about another 5-10 minutes she appeared and said that the chef said I could have a free desert. £17.50 for mussels that I hadn't eaten but the would offer me a free desert!! We asked for the bill, it eventually arrived and they had taken the cost of the mussels off. Unfortunately the damage had already been done, our meal was ruined and I let the waitress know how disappointed we were with the food. She suggested that we come at the weekend - I can only assume that it when they have a professional chef on duty. Maybe I chose my dish incorrectly but I thought that after having this dish on their menu for over 10 years they would know how to cook it...

I'd like to express my utmost gratitude for the outstanding service and food that we had the pleasure of experiencing at your Llandudno restaurant yesterday evening 29/07/2023. We were truly delighted by the entire dining experience, and I wanted to take a moment to thank you and your amazing staff for creating such a memorable evening for us.

From the moment we entered the restaurant, we were welcomed with warm smiles and impeccable hospitality. The attentiveness of the staff throughout our meal was exceptional, and their knowledge of the menu and recommendations truly enhanced our dining experience. We deeply appreciate their dedication and professionalism, which made us feel valued and well taken care of.

Moreover, the food served to us was nothing short of exceptional, it was prepared with utmost care and attention to detail, and the flavours were simply exquisite. It was evident that the chef and the culinary team put tremendous effort into crafting each plate, resulting in a delightful combination of taste and presentation. The quality and freshness of the ingredients used truly shone through, making every bite a truly memorable one.

We went there for late lunch last week. Called in advance to make booking as from what i read online it looked like a busy place. Nobody answered but managed to make booking via the central office (they said the restaurant is probably very busy). Hour or so later we got there and it was dead quiet, one other couple only! It took the waiter 5 minutes to come and see us and show us to our table, even though he saw us straight away. We ordered mussles as main, seafood chowder and kids burger with chips. They brough the mussles not long after placing order, but no other food arrived. About 20 minutes later as we were finished with the mussles different waiter came to ask if we would like pudding to what i said we are still waiting for the rest of the mains. He just said "oh ok". 5 minutes later our original waiter came and asked about the puddings as well. To what i said we are still missing the chowder and kids burger. I guess he never put the order to the kitchen properly. So 40 minutes after ordering (mind that there was only one other couple when we came) my 4 year old finelly got his food. His burger was really dry and he coudnt chew it (i was strugling too). So he ended up eating just chips. The mussles were really really gritty (lidl does much better). However the chowder was really nice. We also got an extra portion of chips that we didnt ordered, but were chargerd for! So overall the food was avarage but really overpriced and the service was terrible. Wish we went elswhere to be honest. Maybe the other...
