Was excited to visit simply because of our love of Greek cuisine, we visited on a week day and the restaurant was already very busy when we arrived which is good to see,.I’ve read through a few of the previous reviews and it would seem that they have dealt with their teething problems on service as it was both fantastic and efficient with average/normal waiting times between ordering and receiving, friendly and courteous as well by the way. The saganaki was really nice but with such a simple dish it would be hard to get it wrong, the hot meze had elements that were nice and elements that weee a tad on the greasy side but overall it was ok. We both opted for kleftiko as it’s one of our favourite dishes but to be on the safe side ordered a mixed gyros as well which we were both thankful of. The gyros meat and the fries were good but the Kleftiko was really just a lamb shank in a quite tasteless but greasy sauce, it was also served with mash potatoes which to be fair it did state on the menu but again I had hoped that the usual kleftiko flavour would make up for the absence of roasted potatoes which would traditionally accompany the lamb. All in all a nice busy place with a good vibe and well worth another visit.

Absolutely loved this place! The moment we walked into the Greek Bistro in Northampton, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and the delicious of authentic Greek cooking. The food was fresh, well cooked and beautifully presented. You can really taste the love and tradition in every dish. The staff were friendly and the cozy ambiance was made for a perfect evening. Highly recommend if you're planning to eat something that has a little taste of Greece, right in the heart of Northampton! συνεχής επιτυχία.✌️

Went last night (Valentine’s Day 25) I’m new to Greek food & culture, my boyfriend is Greek. I had the most amazing night, food was absolutely amazing! Could not stop saying how good it was lol I rang the restaurant earlier in the week to arrange a surprise proposal for my boyfriend & the staff went above & beyond to make it happen & make it so lovely! The service & friendliness was impeccable, definitely found our new regular restaurant! Couldn’t be happier 🥰 5* all round

I would not recommend this place whatsoever - Very disappointing to say the least. My mum and I went for lunch at Greek Bistro this afternoon for the first time. We were really looking forward to it since we don't eat out much, and had passed by the bistro yesterday and thought it looked nice from the outside so decided to give it a try. I ordered the rib eye steak which came with chips, pitta bread and salad. My mum ordered lamb kebab skewers which also came with chips, pitta bread and salad. I was asked by the waiter how I like my steak done, and I let him know that I like my steak medium. After we waited half an hour for the food to finally arrive, upon cutting the steak I noticed straightaway that it was extremely overcooked. There's well-done and then there's cremated. It was absolutely cremated to the point that the meat was a greyish white colour - I've never seen anything like it! A waitress was passing through so I let her know that the steak wasn't medium - It had been overcooked. The waitress with the blonde hair apologised and asked if I wanted the steak to be cooked again. Before making a decision on this, I decided to try a small piece of the steak. It became clear that the cooking of it wasn't the only problem, it tasted very bland and unpleasant. I let the waitress know that I'd rather have something else than the steak. She asked if I wanted the lamb skewers since my mum said that her skewers were nice, so I decided to choose that instead. The waitress told me that they'll make me the skewers, so I can continue eating the other foods on the plate. I didn't think what she said was right, since I would've expected them to had taken the plate away and made the replacement meal from fresh. While waiting another half an hour for the skewers, I ate some of the chips, pitta and salad. Although my mum was enjoying her skewers, we both agreed that the chips weren't very nice - soggy and undercooked. Not at all crispy. Anyway, when the skewers finally arrived, I was surprised to see that they had prepared the whole meal from fresh and not just the skewers. Although I appreciated this, it would've been good if the waitress had told me the correct information and taken the plate away, as I had kind of lost my appetite once the replacement meal had finally arrived. After eating a small amount of food, I ended up having to take my meal home with me because I just couldn't eat most of it. Furthermore, the cappuccino I had ordered which came before any of the food, was one of the worst cappuccinos I've ever tasted. It tasted like dishwater with foam on top. How can you get a cappuccino so wrong? I didn't bother mentioning it to the staff because I expected the food to make up for it, but this wasn't the case. Anyway, after all of the inconvenience I had experienced with the steak and the long periods of waiting for the food, I would've expected the staff to have been very apologetic and understanding. However, they didn't really seem to be bothered at all. There wasn't any discount offered on the meal for all of the inconvenience I had experienced. It was so obvious that they really didn't care, particularly the male waiter who had originally taken the order but never checked on us again. Overall - The food is very average/overpriced and the service just isn't good at all. The lamb skewers were decent but the issue with the steak, and the long waiting periods for the food; combined with the non-chalant customer service, let it down big time. My mum and I both wouldn't come back...

My partner and I were excited to try this newly opened restaurant. While the food was absolutely delicious, the overall experience fell far short of our expectations.

From the moment we walked in, we felt unwelcome. The initial greeting was cold, and we were seated by the door in a somewhat awkward area. The layout could definitely be improved.

Our server's demeanor was unprofessional and disinterested. There was no greeting, no attempt at conversation, just approached us with a pen and paper and waited for us to order. When I asked about the wine selection, she was unable to offer any information. We had to wait 40 minutes for our food, on a Tuesday night. Even simple condiments like salt and pepper were absent from the table, and when we requested sauces, we were told they had run out. On a Tuesday night?

While the restaurant's decor is generally attractive, it appears they may have cut corners towards the end, opting for less appealing colors for the sofas not aligning with rest of the decor.

It's worth reiterating that the food itself was exceptional. However, the poor service and lack of attention to detail significantly detracted from our enjoyment. The staff clearly needs better training and management, particularly regarding basic customer service.

We understand that new restaurants can face teething problems, but this experience was particularly disappointing for a midweek visit. I'm writing this review in the hope that the restaurant can address these issues and live up to the potential demonstrated by the quality...

We visited this restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, but unfortunately, the experience was far from what we expected, especially from a venue that promotes itself as “the finest Greek Restaurant in Northampton.” While the food and drinks were decent, the service was extremely disappointing. One waitress in particular was consistently rude, unwelcoming, and dismissive — rolling her eyes and making visible expressions of disapproval throughout our visit. It made the entire evening uncomfortable and unpleasant. We encountered clear discrepancies and a lack of transparency around pricing, which left us confused and frustrated. After placing an order based on the menu, we were later told that the listed price was incorrect. This change was not handled with professionalism or clarity. The item was then mistakenly added to our bill despite never being served, further adding to the confusion. Although the bill was eventually corrected, the inconsistency raised serious concerns about how such matters are managed. To make matters worse, the hygiene in the restaurant was unacceptable. There were flies around our table, constantly landing on our food and drinks, which made us question the overall cleanliness of the place. This was meant to be a special evening, but the poor service, pricing confusion, and unhygienic conditions turned it into a disappointing experience. Sadly, we will not...
