Feel offended in this restaurant. I asked the staff twice but no one came to take our order while the restaurant was apparently not busy!! However, a group of LOCAL ppl had their order taken just in a couple of minutes after they sit down, and we came in like 10 minutes earlier than them! The staff who was supposed to look after our table just stood at the door, spacing out!?!?! What a joke!

Response to the so-called context below.

Why did not you mentioned that when we walked in we checked with you if we needed a reservation? One of the staff said no that’s why we sit down. If your restaurant pays so much attention about reservations, why did not tell us when we walked in? So basically, your restaurant deliberately fooled us. Now making excuses on reservation? Seriously? And now you think it’s the customers’ fault sitting down?Is it true or not your restaurant welcomed us in and ignored our orders? Is it true or not that the gentleman who looked after our table was spacing out at the door and then went to the bar making drinks after we said we were ready to order?

Stop making excuses if your restaurant cares so much about my review. If you did care about your reputation, the gentleman who looked after our table had eye contact with us when we walked away, but still he didn’t bother to check what was happening. So don’t do one thing and say the other to make your restaurant “seeing” beautiful here.

I’m glad I didn’t stay to experience more...

My friend recommended this place to me, she said it was the best seafood in St. Andrews and she loved it when she was studying there. So I decided to give it a try. I don't remember what else I ordered since it's been a while. But I never missed any opportunity to order oysters. The oysters I ordered were an odd greenish color and the texture was a bit sticky-slimy instead of the usual smooth signature texture of an oyster. I had one anyway and decided that was a bad mistake. I called the waiter to show them that it might have gone bad. They denied it and claimed it was impossible. They took the plate away without any gesture, apology or explanation. I was furious but I didn't want to ruin my date so I brushed it off. If only I knew how sick I was going to get the next day, I would have handled it VERY differently. I have been having oysters regularly for decades in cities I've lived in all across America and UK, I've never had food poison. PERIOD. But I did this time, the 2nd day after I returned from The Seafood Ristorante in St Andrews, I had it so bad, on top of the getting sick and stomach problems, I developed high fever and had to stay in bed for 2 days...

Excellent ... and remarkable value! The sea front location is dramatic. You can watch the chefs prepare the food and/or watch the waves crash. The staff are skilled, helpful and very attentive. The food is excellent. The value of the Seasonal Lunch Menu is amazing for this quality. The wine list is extensive and its lower end is surprisingly good. We were 6 for lunch - a bit of a get-together. Most of us had the 3 course special for £40. It was a mix of fish, seafood and meat - limited choices but enough to match perfectly. We added 4 side orders (£6 ea), 2 of green beans and 2 of excellent potatoes. Plenty to eat all round. We had 2 bottles of Sicilian Grillo white and one of Sicilian Nero d'Avola (all £32 each and fine quality) and a sparkling water for the poor driver. I tried the cheese board (only the same price per course as a dessert, which is unusual). A Spanish brown looking blue cheese. It didn't suit me as it was too strong but that's just a matter of taste. 12.5% service charge added as standard. One of the best (and best value) meals we have had in a long time. Shame we live...

The restaurant itself is very bright and offers great views. It has good vibe although the environment was too busy and noisy for my liking, which prevented any enjoyable conversation. Staff were friendly, ready to answer questions and talk about the menu. Someone was always around to check everything was on order without being intrusive, which was appreciated. The food was simply amazing. Intriguing visual presentation which makes you want to sink your teeth in & combination of flavours that makes you soon down and cherish each bite. Each piece of fish had amazing texture and their oysters offered the taste of freshness that sends chills down your spine. It's a bit pricier but you get what you pay for. Definitely will be coming back.

The restaurant itself has a beautiful location by the sea, and I imagine is a very romantic date night spot. We saw the high recommendations, and decided to stop here for a late lunch. Staff seemed annoyed that we didn’t have a reservation, and overall service was quite slow. The food is presented well and tasted good, but not so good that it justified the price tag. Portions are small. Despite being lunch time we were only provided the dinner menu and its associated surcharge. Maybe you’re paying for the view? The best thing I ordered was the caviar. I would consider dining again to give it another chance, but wouldn’t recommend to others based on our first experience.

One of the classic fine dining spots of St Andrews and has been for 15 years plus! Perched in a modern glass cube over the ocean, it has stunning sea views and super modern decor. The food is delicious- they offer a set menu for lunch which is usually worth doing (significantly cheaper than a la carte and just as delicious). Great ingredients, cooked simply but with flair and attention to flavour. We had a heritage tomato salad with goats cheese stuffed courgette flower, and confit sea trout in a seafood bisque. Amaaaaazing. Service is friendly and informed - great advice on wines and friendly ambience. Perfect for a special occasion.
