Lilo's Pasta - Cardiff — Restaurant in Great Britain

What an absolute car crash of an establishment. The quality of service from Lilo's Pasta is appalling. Almost every employee was clueless regarding where they were supposed to be or what they were meant to be doing (impressive considering it's a 12 x 3ft kitchen), not to mention the outrageous behaviour on display.

The general attitude of the staff was disgusting. The (I assume) manager (gingery-blonde guy) felt it was appropriate to berate and openly criticise staff members in front of customers. All it did was make him look weak and ineffectual whilst also bringing a clearly frazzled young woman close to tears.

Additionally, there was a Deliveroo Rider who was SO incredibly patient whilst this God awful manager kept shouting "Don't worry about the Deliveroo orders, forget the Deliveroo orders and focus on customers!" Like, that manager's inability to manage staff OR Lilo's Pasta's working relationship with Deliveroo means that Rider's delivery-time will be affected, his tips reduced and his reviews potentially negative, culminating in less work. This manager was so unpleasant and inept that his toxic managerial "style" was actually impacting people beyond his staff.

Another staff member (very petite, dark haired woman) thought nothing of informing the entire queue that her colleague was "stupid" (not a misdiagnosis, to be fair, but still).The aforementioned staff member also, TWICE looked at an order-box and, quite literally, announced "I don't even know WHAT that's for" before tossing it aside to inside to clean a spatula (or something).

There was a tall, bearded fellow who, I'm pretty sure, was not aware that he actually worked at Lilo's Pasta by the way he nonchalantly peeled a single onion over a fifteen minute period. His lackadaisical attitude was starkly contrasted by the grown woman who seemed to be engaged in a struggle for dominance with a salad bar that contained a staggering FIVE options.

The only staff member who I can speak of positively was the delightful person who initially took my order. Talk about grace under pressure! She was friendly, efficient and took my order in her stride even when I made a couple of additional requests. Give her a medal. The rest? Straight in the bin.

As for the food. Woefully mediocre. They also forgot my nachos! It's called 'The Mexican' for Pete's sake! They do stock my favourite flavour of Sanpellegrino (blood orange), however. Served just below room temperature. Delightful.

Watching 5+ people struggle to heat up pre-cooked pasta was a laugh in University. Not when it costs me over a fiver. What a bloody disgrace. It's my first and last time at Lilo's Pasta. I suggest you go...

EDIT: Guess when I came here before I was unlucky. Got a good quality medium pasta + pepsi for around £5 (w/ the discount applied) and they've sped up their service since I last came here. Absolutely brilliant!

I wish Google did half-stars as this place deserves more than a 3⭐ but doesn't quite warrant a 4⭐. Staff seem a little rushed and disorganised because they seem to receive a lot of orders at once from people phoning in and using Deliveroo etc. Although I did wait quite a while for my pasta and hot chocolate (~20min) it was good as a pick-me-up in the morning. (Although nothing particularly amazing). Prices are reasonable (although a tad on the expensive side?) and the 15% Student Discount is very nice. (Helps to offset the price a bit) I've to try them, but the bagels are quite nice (or so I've been told and seen by the fact they're very popular)

TL;DR Pasta is decent and a decent price, but probably a good idea to order this one through Deliveroo to your dorm/office rather than coming down...

Myself and my boyfriend have ordered from Lilo's more times than I'd like to admit. Super great for students like us at deadline/exam time when there's no time to cook, affordable and much better than ordering stuff like pizza/junk. I would definitely recommend Lilo's to anyone.

The lunch deal boxes are packed so full when you order through deliveroo and the free toppings of salad and cheese are generous too. The large box is so good for the price, sometimes we have enough left over from lunch to eat as an evening meal. The pastas themselves are so tasty and satisfying, I really recommend the Cheesy Chorizo and Mexican pastas.

Also their desserts are really good, especially the lemon blueberry slice, and they have Vegan options. Delivery is always really quick too.

Definitely one of my favourite lunch...
