We wanted a coffee so I came inside to check this new place. The first thing the girl who spoke to me said was "do you have a face-covering" so I said that I am exempt and I can't wear it. I noticed it made her uncomfortable and that was strange. It seemed to me like she had a problem with the fact that I can't wear one. Anyway I asked her what coffee's they do and its my first time here. I was looking at the menu, and after 5 seconds the girl said "I suggest you wear an exemption card because some people are strict about it" I said that I have exemption card on my phone if she wanna see it but she refused. In a meantime another girl that works there didn't have mask and exemption card either. I don't think its her job to suggest anything apart from coffee or ice cream to me, especially when it comes to my health condition. Maybe I just don't want other people to see that I have problem with my health. The law also clearly says that exemption cards are not necessary. My first time and last there. We also left without the coffee sad and disappointed how ignorant...
Read moreUsed to enjoy a Creams before it shut down randomly a while ago. Was excited to see it back open finally, but I have to admit I’m rather disappointed.
The staff need major retraining. It took quite a while to actually order due to the staff having no idea how to use the till and what products they make! This was THAT bad a friend asked for 3 scoops of ice cream and ended up with.. 3 cones.
The food was meh at best with the cake being dry and unpleasant despite being in a sundae! That sundae was also dripping and half melted when it was served so I had to put a tissue down immediately to stop it making a mess over the table.
Who I assumed to be the manager was a decent, cheery guy! I do wish that his staff had the same demeanour.
Also the previous 20% off student discount has been discontinued and is now only 10%, which was a tad disappointing. Nothing is tagged as vegan, either which makes ordering a bit confusing at times so you have to ask questions that the staff...
Read moreFood was of OK quality. Nothing to write home about.
However, what forced me to write a review was the service. Or lack of. 40 minute wait for some scoops of ice cream? Nothing ordered needed cooking/heating. The place wasn’t busy, one other table of two. By the time the ice cream arrived (one scoop for my toddler, a sundae for me and a cheesecake for my partner) my child was bored. I was bored. We were all bored. Could understand if it was busy in there. Could literally hear the two members of staff just chatting. There was a man in a suit and laptop in there, seemed like a member of head office or a supplier or something. Seemed more interested in chatting to him.
It’s not exactly cheap, especially for something you could turn out at home. But, you pay for the service, ambiance etc. and we got nada.
Won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend to...
