Wetherspoons #117 visited. A rather small branch situated off the main shopping district of Queen Street, with an outside 'beer garden' situated at the back of the pub. A handy location for Queen St Railway Station, situated nearby. Although the pub was not the largest visited on my trip to Cardiff, they did seem to make an effort with the range of guest beers on. I've often found on my travels that the smaller branches tend to make more of an effort in all areas of service and food, than many of the larger, more popular branches. Opted for a pint of Oakham Bite The Bullet, which was in good condition. Did not sample food on this occasion, as had breakfast at the Prince of Wales branch earlier in the day. Worth a visit, if in the area!

Awful awful place! Management is shocking! I overheard one member of staff (pictured below) speak to her colleague awfully! They dropped a glass, which smashed, and said to their colleagueto ‘clean it up now’, clicking their fingers, which I overheard. I then politely asked this member of staff to not speak to their member of staff so rudely. Before I knew it I was getting kicked out. This member of staff called over security and told us we were getting kicked out, having my whole drink and my partners drink taken off us, all because I was defending their colleague.

Two separate staff refused us service because our IDs were European. Looking through previous reviews, this isn't a singular situation, and other people were faced with similar treatment. We felt unwelcome and frankly unsafe, with staff claiming European IDs are "easy to fake" and reason enough to ask us to leave the establishment. Please refresh your staff on what is an acceptable form of ID - and if you're an international visitor, don't even bother, only British ID holders are accepted at this "exclusive" Wetherspoons...
