Malaga Tapas is a great and very welcome addition to the West End. We had a booking for 8 o'clock on a Saturday night and the place was buzzing. The restaurant has beautiful Spanish tiling throughout, the atmosphere is great and our food was excellent, as was my glass of house red.
All three of us were delighted with our visit.
I do, however, have two criticisms. I was initially pleased to see that the restaurant has Victoria beer as it's actually from Málaga and tastes great. But my pint of Victoria was dreadful - not even full, not cold enough with a head that disappeared straight away. The owners should either learn how to keep and serve draught beer or they should stick to bottles, as my pint was worth one star at best.
Secondly, the toilets were in an unacceptable condition last night, with a mini flood in one of the gents' cubicles. Do yourselves and your guests a favour by putting in a couple of urinals. This will make things cleaner and more pleasant for staff and guests.
If these issues can be sorted out this place will be worth 5...

£6 or whatever for 5 boquerones in terrible olive oil/vegetable oil (no arbequina)
£8 or whatever for 5 prawns in a gambas pilpil made with the same fake olive oil/vegetable oil, with the most acrid burnt garlic taste in my mouth and stuck in my teeth hours later
£5 or whatever as well for pan con tomate which wasn’t fresh, the tomato tasted like it had been blended days before
And £35 for a paella mixto which was nice, but came with langoustines which didn’t have a nutcracker to get the meat out the claws - what a humongous waste of one of Scotland’s best produce!
Mediocre wine list and only Madri on draught (Carling with a Spanish name).
Really underwhelming. Took 15 minutes for the bill to come too. Was excited after hearing rave review about the Bearsden branch. If you want good tapas, this certainly isn’t the place to go in...
