Cannot recommend this place highly enough. While we were in Glasgow for the (Coronation) Bank Holiday Weekend, we were looking for somewhere that served brunch. A couple of people that we know from the city suggested we try "The Left Bank" on Gibson Street and we weren't disappointed! The staff are super friendly, young and fun....they engaged well with us and seemed interested. They were busy and that's always a good sign and the accents appeared in the main to be "local". We never had to wait more than five minutes for a table which was amazing considering it was a Bank Holiday. Only good vibes at The Left Bank by the looks of things too. The longest time from sitting to ordering (on the three occasions that we visited) was roughly ten minutes. The food arrived in a timely fashion also. The French Toast with Caramelised Banana is to die for! So delicious!! My son had the Eggs Mornay Caledonia (poached egg with mornay sauce and smoked salmon). He was equally impressed. However, the best item of all on the menu was surprisingly their Breakfast Tea. I'm a tea lover and when I'm out I'm loathe to have a cuppa as it never tastes the same as at home. However, the tea here was SO GOOD that I had two pots of it on the three visits we made to The Left Bank that weekend! Full-bodied, not bitter and no tinny after taste! Believe me when I say it's definitely the best tasting tea outside my own home and that's high praise from me! I also noticed that many patrons brought their doggies along 🐶🐕 while they were enjoying a leisurely breakfast / brunch / lunch and as a dog lover I approve! Was a great talking point between the tables. I can highly recommend "The Left Bank" and look forward to visiting there again soon!

The Left Bank is definitely one of the places to visit for food. We were served by a lovely and attentive staff member who informed us of the specials and said just to ask if we needed anything else. I asked if non-alcoholic cocktails were available. The staff member asked what flavours I liked and said that they would create me a cocktail. The drink was phenomenal. We both ordered the chicken burger, which came in a brioche bun, with fresh salad and fries seasoned with rosemary on the side. My compliments to the chef as the dish was delish! It was truly divine. I wish I could give more than five stars because it really is heaven. To the staff, thank you for making this place as wonderful as it is. We will be back!

Upon seeing the menu and discovering the homemade baked beans on toast with cheese for only £5 I was over the moon, starving i decided to give this a go and immediately discovered why it was priced so cheaply for a restaurant in the west end of Glasgow. The beans were flavorless, the toast burnt and mushy and the cheese lacking of any taste whatsoever. We waited about 20-30 minutes after finishing our brunch for someone to check on our table so we could raise our complaint but no-one ever did, we took it upon ourselves to pay at the counter to which we were given a solemn 'thanks' and left to exit the premises, it was as if they were as disappointed as we were.

Beautiful place. Visited for my partners birthday on Saturday evening (5th Sept) as we were having an overnight in Glasgow. All the food we had was outstanding, great variety in the menu and very well catered for vegan and gluten free diets. It was so refreshing to see creative small plate dishes that are vegetable led and not fake meat/processed/every option with chips!

Thoroughly enjoyed starters and mains, it would be very suited as a sharing place at any time of day. The restaurant offers great breakfast, lunch and tea options and lots of deals too that are worth look in into during the week. Impressed also at the value for money offered.

Service was friendly and very efficient, quite casual which we enjoyed. There was a real good feel and atmosphere. Nice ambiance from a varied playlist.

I enjoyed it so much, that I visited the day after for a late lunch with my mum and sister. They were similarly impressed. We opted to share 6 different small plates and sides, food excellent and beautifully presented. Very good drinks menu on offer. Nice to see quality alcohol free options including spritzes and yummy iced teas (I can recommend both the strawberry and lemon varieties).

Will definitely return again, small plates and wine are a sure promise to lure...

Been to left bank several times before, and always enjoyed the food. However, I was very disappointed by my recent visit. When we were sat we didn’t receive menus for 5 minutes. After ordering drinks, they took over 10 minutes to arrive, and it was a simple order of 2 orange juices, tea and coffee. From sitting down to receiving food it took 50 minutes.

The beans on the breakfast came out cold, the toast was barely toasted and the butter was unspreadable as it was so hard and the toast was cold. The table next to us didn’t get a check back until they were 90% done with their food and their table wasn’t cleared for a while after they left.

There was no waiter in our section so left with empty plates for a long time after we had finished eating. After we asked for the bill it took ages to arrive and also waited so long for the card reader that we eventually went down to the front to pay ourselves.

Our waiters were lovely, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and music. The eggs were cooked well, and the shakshuka and french toast was good.

I’m not sure if it was understaffed but the service was incredibly slow, and for the price of the food I...
