An absolute disappointment. This Halloween event was an example of incompetence and greed on behalf of the management. My friends and I pre booked tickets 3 weeks prior and arrived at mosh at 11:15 to find out that there was no separate line for ticket holders, as there had been in the past and got told to join the back of the queue, which was around the building to the point we could no longer see the club. We talked to several people around us in the same predicament. It got to the point where we started getting concerned that we wouldn't be let in because of how many people there were. I asked another member of staff who told me we will definitely get in and to just join back in line where I was previously. We came to the conclusion that maybe there was a limit for how many people they were willing to let in without tickets. There was no crowd control further down the line. It was chaotic with people screaming, tussling and stumbling into the busy road, not to mention the pushing and cutting in line. It was raining and people were shaking from the cold. After 45 minutes, we made it to the front of the line where the bouncer paid us absolutely no mind and wasn't actually using the tally counter in his hand. This concerned me since isn't the point of him having it to keep count of the people going in? Isn't an overcrowded, multi-storey club a fire hazard and safety concern? We get to reception at 12:08, I show them our tickets only to be told we still have to pay £5 each since it was after 12 and our tickets were no longer valid. They wanted us to pay the same price we had already paid again. After we had just spent over 45 minutes of our time in the rain and cold. We simply turned around and left because you definitely won't be making my friends and I, repay you the same amount we had already paid. For what? To stand in horrendously long lines to the bar to give the club even more money and dance on overcrowded dance floors because you refuse to limit the amount of people coming in? And isn't the point of pre-sale tickets that both the venue and customer benefit from it? In case management wasn't aware, you benefit by getting money ahead of time and can use your sales to predict how busy you will be and can then plan accordingly. The customer benefits by having guaranteed and quicker entry for the price they paid, often cheaper than buying at the door. This is an example of absolutely disgusting greed and lack of organisation on the behalf of the Mosh management team and truly a disappointment since I used to be so fond of this club and would sing its praises. I'm sorry to see it degrade and fall victim to incompetent leadership. In future, don't do a presale if your only goal is to scam...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt was my birthday yesterday (Tuesday) and I thought it would be a good idea to go to Mosh as Mosh Tuesdays USED to be my favourite night out.
When me and my friends got to Mosh, my friend who is black was denied entry because he 'didn't have student ID' and then when we stepped back from the door the bouncer let 3 white boys in without any mention of a student ID. Bit of discrimination there?
We went back to meet a friend who went to the cash point. We queued up again, but the girls of the group went first and we got let straight in, no question of a student ID. However when they got to the boys, they weren't allowed in because they didn't have student ID. Seems pretty sexist to me.
This is the first time I've ever heard that you're only allowed in if you have a student ID. I am not a student and went to Mosh Tuesdays all the time, never been asked for student ID so I was very confused and annoyed. They were letting other people in right in front of us who didn't have student ID. The bouncer outside was saying '£3 with NUS and £4 without' so you don't actually need a student card to get in. When we questioned them as to why they were doing this they didn't really have an answer and were rude to us.
Fair enough if they asked everyone for student ID's but they weren't, so I really don't understand what their problem was.
We stood outside for a bit, speaking to our other friends that were already in there (that never got asked for student ID) We took a picture of the bouncer, but couldn't get his name. The bouncer outside also swore at us.
Others have had trouble with this bouncer before, when one of our friends had a dried up cut on his head (which he got from his work environment) the same bouncer said he wasn't allowed in because of it. How ridiculous is that? He is the tall and skinny blonde one probably in his thirties. If it was another bouncer we probably would have all been let in. Ruined my birthday a little as theres not many other places to go on a Tuesday, and we went out on this day purely for Mosh. Very disappointed and they will be losing mine and all my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went with a group of my friends on a Saturday night, one of my friends got forcefully removed so the rest of our group decided to leave once we had heard what had happened. Upon talking to our friend, we realised he had been throw out aggressively, and our other friend who was leaving with him had been grabbed by the shoulder, scratched and then bruised, when they told the doormen that they weren't drunk, but were trying to leaving willingly. After leaving the premises, the doormen continued to argue aggressively with our group on the other side of the road, when we said that they cannot treat customers like that for no reason. Our friend got his phone out to film the aggressive behavior, and the doorman snatched his phone out of his hand and deleted the footage, causing a few people in our group to ask for the phone back. One of the guys in our group was asking a doorman for the phone, and no violence had been used until the doorman shoved my friend in the chest. When my friend retaliated, three doormen immediately jumped on my friend and put him in a restraint hold, when he managed to get free more of the doormen grabbed him, threw him across the road and he ended up on the floor. At this point five or six doormen were beating him on the road as he was defenseless on the floor. Me and my friend ran across the road to try and help him, begging the doormen to stop and how they can't use the amount of force they used when it was unwarranted. I then got shoved, somehow got a black eye and then got grabbed around the arm and twisted and thrown into the middle of the road. Our friend who had been beaten on the road had to go to hospital and get stitches. The only violence that had been used from our group was us defending ourselves after violence had been used from the doormen. This is unacceptable behavior, especially since we were not on the property and did not use violence against the doormen except for...
