I came here upon seeing the reviews being really good however that cane to an end pretty quickly. I ordered Aubergines, a beef flank noodle soup, prawn fried noodles, and a portion of the mixed vegetable steamed buns. The aubergines came out first which I thought were really good, then both the noodles came out. The prawn noodles were good and the beef flank noodle soup was very salty, still okay. After waiting a while the buns came out and when I tried the first bite it was pork. I asked the older woman who insisted that I ordered the mixed steamed buns and not vegetarian but this was definitely wrong. She quickly became agitated and started raising her voice at me in her barely understandable English arguing that this happened to the previous table too and that I was unclear. How can I be unclear when I reiterated the order to her 3 times before when ordering to be vegetable. Anyway she grabbed the plated off the table when I told her to just leave it and started yelling in the kitchen in Chinese to her other colleagues. I dont understand Chinese but I know what she was saying was not nice as I could feel from that tone. She then took the meat dumplings and put them in a take away box which she packed and sent out to a driver?! That is just insane especially as it is an open kitchen. When the veg dumplings arrived it seemed very small for £10.50 (I’m sure she put less in that portion intentionally). The bun was disgusting. It wasn’t even cooked properly as I could still taste the raw flour in the inside. All in all, I will never...
Read moreWe were really excited to try this place as we read all the hyped reviews. first of all, we were disappointed we had to order the food at the till rather than have a waitress come over and take the order. Once we ordered, the mains did not arrive at the same time. My main dish arrived first, then my noodles and then my boyfriend waited for ages until he got his. Dim sum arrived way after the mains, which was weird. We hoped that at least mains would arrive at the same time. The food is very average, I do no understand what the hype is about, there are much tastier places in Glasgow. He ordered beef noodles, while the noodles were ok, the beef was cold and slimey, which was a real disappointment. Who wants warm noodles and cold beef on top of it? My salt and pepper chicken was very dry, there was no taste or nice texture to it. Side portions of noodles on their own are quite pricey - £7.5 for just noodles. Dim sum was very average, the beef meet inside it was artificial tasting. Furthermore they do not take card, who in the 21st century does not take card, had to go to get the cash out. No tap water at the table. Not once we were asked if the food was ok. Customer service clearly needs to be much better. the food is quite average to say the least. For fifty quid and no booze, you would expect better. We won't be back because of the food, but also because of the service. The place is lacking ambiance, it...
Read moreIf you enjoy dining with a side of sarcasm and a pinch of passive aggression, then this restaurant is truly a hidden gem. The ambiance? Oh, top-notch especially if you’re a fan of cramped window seats that leave you wondering where to place anything larger than a cell phone. I politely asked if my guest and I could sit at a slightly bigger table—you know, one that might accommodate two whole people—and was greeted by the receptionist’s swift silent departure, a level of mystery that rivaled Houdini.
Eventually, I was directed to the table, but not without a grand performance by the receptionist herself. She kindly swung by to inform us, with Oscar-worthy sarcasm, that "other parties of four manage just fine squeezing together." Her concern for efficiency and her knack for commentary on seating capacity are nothing short of inspiring—imagine, transforming a simple meal into a thrilling social critique on table occupancy.
In summary, if you’re looking to be seated, served, or treated with basic courtesy, you may want to keep browsing. But if passive-aggressive hospitality and an ever-so-slightly judgmental ambiance are your vibe, then by all means, make your...
