CASH ONLY.

Aside from the annoyance of having to go get money from a cash point just to grab some casual food in a mall food court, we were excited for some good Chinese food after a long journey to Glasgow.

The food was mid. I didn't have particularly high expectations for Chinese food in Scotland tbh as it doesn't have a great reputation for being authentic. It was nice to see a Chinese menu. It is packed full of items that are not on the confusing English menu. The English menu is basically useless for any anglophone who wants legit Chinese food here. Thankfully, I was with a Chinese person who can read the real menu.

That said, the flavours were a let down. It seemed a bit bland and lacking. It wasn't bad at all, just not that good. It seemed a little toned down like they're making it for British taste buds, even though the majority of people eating there were are Asian. Or maybe it was just an off day. I'm not sure.

Maybe by Scottish standards this is cheap, but for anybody else, this was VERY expensive for the portion size and quality of the food. £13-15 for basic fried noodles or beef noodle soup is completely outrageous to me for what we got and the fact it has all the ambience of eating mediocre street food in a rundown underground mall food court.

It's good for a quick bite if you're not too picky, and maybe this is the best Glasgow has to offer for Chinese food (which would be sad), but I don't think I'd bother coming back. Not at...

I never usually write reviews, but this place is incredible I just had to. The service is incredibly fast and the staff are very friendly and attentive. I think the place is family run which adds to the good vibes. Olive Tree is cash only but this will help keep prices cheap. The £8.50 lunch deal will get you a big starter and an absolutely giant main course; in all honestly the food is not the best i’ve had - but it is still delicious and this is understandable with such quick service. You won’t have to wait any longer than 10 minutes for your meal. My favourites are the beef in black bean and the sweet and sour chicken. This place is a hidden gem that I cannot recommend more!!! (I couldn’t wait to take a photo...

Saw this place on social media, so wanted to try it out. Food was okay, nothing special. My soup noodle was salty but didn’t want to complain to staff as they looked grumpy. The 2 chefs in kitchen looked busy and under pressure so didn’t want to inconvenience them. It is very popular with Asian students but can’t recommend the food as we didn’t enjoy our meal. There are better Asian restaurants in Glasgow who also serve this type of Asian cuisine, and with better surroundings. However, if you just want a cheap meal or snack and not bothered about standards of service, then you may as well...

We found this hidden place inside the Savoy Centre and decided to give it a try. The owners are originally from Fujian as my girlfriend and so we ordered some typical dishes from that region. The ingredients might be not the freshest you can find but the taste is definitely there. Good dishes, well made and rich of flavors and very generous portions. This is only the second place I found since I’m Europe (29y) who makes dishes typically from Fujian. Very good value for money and also the service is quick and kind
