FIRST OF ALL... in response to the owners reply to our complaint below... I never heard of ice-cream pudding being brought the same time as the kids meal.. It would be melted before they ate their dinner a waitress would normally bring pudding after dinner. As it was listed in the kids menu as "included" your answer is ridiculous. Also it was my sister not my wife another assumption you made and the 3 kids meals were OVERCHARGED and that is why we had to insist on seeing the itemised receipt which your bar manager tried to prevent us seeing. She admitted we were OVERCHARGED as we had been given last years menu an were also told the only one you had as new ones were being printed so not our fault. Of course I can understand you trying to COVER YOUR ASS considering you yourself were not present.
FEMALE MANAGER refused pudding to 3 kids that we paid for Included with kids meals. DISGRACEFUL. (Check other poor reviews most point to management poor attitude). 8 In our party paid for meals 5 Adults & 3 kids. Pudding were included with kids meal and when we ask for them along with 5 adult puddings we were going to purchase we were refused. When challenged all sorts of excuses were made one of them being "THE KIDS MENU WE ORDERED FROM THAT WAS GIVEN WAS BY THE STAFF, THE ONLY ONE IN THE WHOLE PUB AND WAS OLD!! Eventually after 15 minutes of confrontation we got a refund for the kids part after requesting a itemised receipt and found out they even OVERCHARGED us. Such a pity because we have visited there when in Glasgow a few times before but never again because of an unprofessional manager behind the bar with poor manners, poor attitude & awful customer service. I hope the Ower reads this review and acts on it. We didn't bother with our pudding and left unimpressed. JUST THINK ALL OVER 3 SCOOPS OF ICE CREAM!! For the same price check out the famous "Chippy Doon The Lane" sit in or "Stereo" on 20 Renfield Lane" which are both very close where the staff smile at no extra cost. AS OTHER REVIEWERS HAVE COMMENTED "NOT...
Read moreA Cozy Feast for the Senses in Glasgow The Lauders might be nestled on Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow's bustling artery, but stepping inside is like entering a warm, welcoming time capsule. This Victorian corner pub is a symphony of rich woods, stained glass, and twinkling lights, whispering tales of a bygone era. And let me tell you, the magic extends far beyond the ambience.
My family and friends and I were greeted with genuine smiles and friendly banter from the staff, like we were regulars coming home for Sunday roast. The menu, a delightful blend of English comfort food and Scottish staples, was like a childhood hug on a plate. We feasted on melt-in-your-mouth fish and chips, hearty stews brimming with vegetables, and the kind of juicy burgers that make angels sing. Each bite was a testament to quality ingredients and skillful cooking, leaving us all utterly satisfied.
But The Lauders is more than just good food. It's a space that invites lingering, laughter, and connection. The gentle hum of conversation, the crackle of the fireplace, and the occasional burst of cheers from the tellies (showing the footie, of course!) create a tapestry of sound that feels strangely comforting. We spent hours swapping stories, sharing jokes, and simply basking in the warm glow of this historic pub.
Whether you're seeking a nostalgic escape from the everyday, a hearty meal with loved ones, or a taste of true Glaswegian hospitality, The Lauders is a must-visit. It's not just a pub – it's an experience, a portal to a time when good food, good company, and genuine warmth were the heart and soul of a community.

The Lauders is a jewel in Glasgow's crown, a place where time slows down and good vibes flow freely. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the very best of Glaswegian...

I'm not normally one for posting reviews but I wanted to take the time to leave some well deserved feedback for the hard working staff.
Was looking for somewhere in town to take my. Daughter to celebrate her exam results and due to the pandemic most places were fully booked. We took a chance and went into town anyway hoping to find somewhere last minute. We arrived at Lauders having been turned away from a few places previously as we had no reservation. The friendly staff member greeted us at the door and as I explained we were looking for a table to have a bite to eat to celebrate. The male staff member found us a quiet table and told us we have the table for as long as wee need. At a time when these pubs rely on quick turnover in trade, this really showed they care about repeat custom. There wasn't t a huge menu but plenty variety to meet anyone's palette. The food itself was delicious. It arrived quickly and was perfectly cooked. My daughter isn't one for vegetables (she gets that bad habits from me :)) but she enjoyed every bite of her meal as did I. Through our whole meal the staff was always attentive bit not imposing making sure we were happy with out meal. Even afterwards when there was a slight issue with our bill when I spoke to the staff member they couldn't have been nicer and happier to help.
Over all at a time of uncertainty during covid-19 for many, this establishment felt like a safe haven from all the current worries. Thanks to the great staff food and service, I was able to create a nice lasting memory for my daughter and I to celebrate her great results. Thanks again and I will certainly be...
