Riverside Cafe — Restaurant in Great Britain

I will start by saying that the biscoff cheesecake is very nice and the waitresses are extremely kind. However, I do not know how they deal with the manager. First of all, she told me that I'd have to move my chair if someone sat on the table next to us when there was plenty of room between the tables. Secondly, there was one waitress that she made sit on a table while cleaning the cutlery. This created a very loud atmosphere and not a relaxing one that I imagined a Riverside Cafe to be. Thirdly, she was horrible to the waitresses and even said that they shouldn't be standing in the kitchen as it looked like favouritism. If there is nothing to do then where else do you expect them to go. Lastly, when someone did come and sit on the table next to us, she made me move my chair even though I had it pulled in as far as I could. She was very rude and made it seem like my fault that there wasn't enough room. In my opinion, there was enough room as other tables were that close together. It was only because the person sat behind me had their chair out really far that there wasn't enough room so why should I have to move. These things really ruined the experience for me. Dropped in with the family earlier today, five of us. The cafe was busy so we had to wait around a bit for a table to free up, no issue, that’s expected at all Waterside cafes on sunny days.

I grabbed some menus myself as the staff were clearly rushed off their feet. Asked one member of staff if they could clear the previous table occupants' plates and cups etc., which they did straight away. Had to ask someone else to wipe the table down afterwards, kinda thought that might have been done as part of the same job, but not a big deal.

You order food at the counter, all straightforward. The young lady who served us was friendly, helpful, and polite, all good.

Drinks came out after about 20 minutes, food followed about 15 minutes later. I had the full English, well cooked, nicely presented, and I polished off the lot. Everyone else had different dishes and all were happy, no complaints at all, everything was tasty and cooked well.

Popped in here today and was pleased the menu had some great choices, ordered a tuna sandwich and my husband had bacon, he said the bacon was lovely and plenty of it, however as I was about to take a bite of my sandwich there was a black hair hanging out of it so I called the waitress over she apologised and said can I get you something else, I decided to just get a flapjack and whn it came to the bill the lady I can only assume was the owner was a bit stroppy and said well did you eat the sandwich said well no not after finding a hair in it! She was like right ok then so you had a flapjack instead... erm yeah didnt want to risk another sandwich to be honest but thanks for making it sound like I was being awkward! Very rude and also the glass they gave me for my coke was filthy so drank out of the can anyway! Wont go back here have to say the young lasses waiting on were lovely and polite shame about the lady...
