‘Wandering Wednesday’ this week took Hubby Neil and I to an eatery where we have not been to previously. We ventured into Town to a Bistro called ‘Sakan’ on Sankey St. The restaurant was pristine and our server was a lady named Aneta, this lady was lovely and smiley, very polite, friendly and professional….. It wasn’t too busy at the time we dined there so food waiting time was literally cooking time. We both ordered the same which was Eggs Benedict and steak…. This was layered up with….. Two toasted muffins, finely chopped tomatoes and white onion…… sliced medium rare lean steak, with two poached eggs, smothered in silky Hollandaise sauce, garnished with cress, Nigella seeds, black pepper, the plate was drizzled with chilli mayo with added pearls of tiny biquinho sweet peppers…..this was accompanied with a dish of lightly salted crispy potatoes…. This whole dish was SO PERFECT, I didn’t want it to end…
I’ve never had Eggs Benedict before but I’ll never forget the first restaurant I tried it in……. We both said that this is probably the best restaurant we’ve been to yet on Wandering Wednesdays.
Massive compliments to the Chef, whose name is Pawel…..Who has a gift in cooking…. Fault could not be found at all, it was totally delicious. SIMPLY PERFECT and thank you.
This place is a definite MUST TRY…. It goes without asking if we’ll be back!…..
P.s……Happy birthday Chef Pawel🥳🥳🥳🥳….

Read moreHad seen this on Facebook and decided to try it out.
Greeted and seated very quickly by a friendly member of staff. Didn't have too long to wait until they came to see if we were ready to order.
We had Shakshuka and a Halloumi & Turkish sausage sandwich. Both were really good, very tasty and with the Shakshuka was bread and some whipped feta dip. The lamb in the Shakshuka was tender and tasty, happy I went for the lamb version but would have still been great without. The sandwich had avocado in too and it all came together in a great tasting sandwich accompanied by some chips.
The portions are not massive but just right for a lunch. Average price for something that tastes so good. The menu was very varied and also had a many burgers in offer.
I dropped a knife and by the time I had bent down to pick it up we had been provided with a fresh set of cutlery, that is really good service, not something you see that often.
Will be back there again and if I can avoid just having the same again, with it being so nice, I will attempt to sample...
Read moreI had such a wonderful brunch today, i had the lamb shakshuka, it was absolutely delicious. I would have given the review 5 stars but sadly the experience was lessened by a rather rude comment made by the host serving. I had praised how nice the meal was and that i stated that i used to be a chef in London, the waitress then had the ordasity to responded saying that "even though you were a chef in London doesnt mean know what good food is, i lived in London and ate at lots of places that sold loads of bad food" this comment was not only insulting but was rude and highly unprofessional for someone who works in hospitality, especially as i was praising their food. The whole experience would have been perfect if she had kept her opinion to herself about eating in such substandard establishments, to denounce my hard earned skills as a chef so blatently was deplorable, judgmental, incompetent, and careless. Other than that the decor was very nice the food outstanding. Even with such an experience i look forward to eating there...
