Sword Sushi — Restaurant in Great Britain

Ordered to takeaway earlier this evening, but when we sat down we were both half thinking of sitting in, we didn’t need much persuasion.

With little persuasion, our prawn tempura was placed delicately in front of us and we tucked straight in. Crisp and thin batter and hot, fresh prawns, man that was a great reason to stay in. Any time in a box the steam would make the batter soggy.

Next came the pork ramen. Again, piping hot, delicious, fantastic noodles. Tasty broth, great minced pork amongst spring onions. Again please!

Finally was the sushi and nigiri. Great rice, have as much soy sauce as you want, fantastic fish and lovely firm rolls! The fact you can tell it’s fresh makes me want to go more.

The people who own and run this place are a credit to Dennistoun. The atmosphere inside is calm and enjoyable and a wee brother with the owners is just great.

Went in to order for collection and asked what vegan options they had. Was pleasantly surprised at the amount of options they had and what could be made vegan on request. Staff were very welcoming and helpful, explained options clearly where I was unsure of what they involved.

Ended up ordering several different items to see what was good and everything will be getting ordered again! Tofu was delicious and didn't get soggy on the trip home. Paired perfectly with the chilli sauce. The avocado maki was incredibly creamy and smooth. Very clearly fresh ingredients used, no risk of mush or discolouring. Other sushi was flavourful and overall just delicious! The pumpkin was crispy, tasty and a household favourite!

All in all a great selection and everything was delicious. Restaurant itself offers a warm welcome and we will definitely try to sit in for food next time we are...

Sushi was incredibly fresh, salmon was amazing, good quality soy sauce and fresh wasabi too (makes a difference). Service was great, the owners were enthusiastic about where the products they used were coming from and that their quality was up to standard. They were also trialling making their own ice cream and gave us one to try! To the owners, who asked us to leave a review about the ice cream, it was good and the vanilla flavour was worth the travel it did from Australia (coincidentally also our home).
