Beautiful place but was really disappointed by the treatment we received from two of the waitresses. They clearly didn't want to serve us or were probably feed up with the job. When we walked in,there was no one to show us to our table and when my friend approached one of the waitresses to ask of where we could seat, she didn't respond back but rather pointed towards the door assuming she meant to say we need to have waited there. After waiting for about 5 minutes we decided to see ourselves to the seat and the other waitresses obviously ignored us until another waiter walked in and apologised for her behaviour. We asked for a bottle of water while having our drinks which was never brought to our table. My friend flew all the way from Michigan and I had planned to take her for a Spa day in the hotel, but after the attitude we received at the restraunt I clearly couldn't spend my money in a place where I didn't ...
Read moreLovely setting, excellent food, and attentive service, but slightly lacking in courtesy. Visited whilst in Windsor with friends, who'd recommended stopping by. We all had afternoon tea, and were seated in one of the lovely bay window areas. The atmosphere was lively, and the venue busy - a positive sign that they are clearly good at what they do. The food and drink was excellent, and we weren't left hungry. We had a genuinely lovely afternoon here. Our only gripe was the service - although we were very well tended to (if not a little too well), simple questions were answered with a lack of courtesy, and with very little product knowledge, actually leaving us quite confused as to what we'd be paying for. Although this didn't leave a sour taste, we did come away remembering how the service hadn't matched the venue or the excellent food. None the less, I'd highly recommend a visit to anyone...
Read moreGreat location in Windsor on the side of the Thames. We were looking for a good cream tea and hoped to dine on the terrace and were slightly disappointed to have to sit inside, but we were fortunate to get a table by a window with a view out onto the river. We had the cream tea (£17.85 each), which was tasty, the scones were fresh, however the carrot cake was dry, which was disappointing for the price. The cream tea comes with unlimited tea and coffee, however my partner drinks neither and asked for hot chocolate instead, which we were served. It was only when I paid the bill that I realised the hot chocolate was charged separately, which seems greedy of the business when they have already allowed for tea or coffee when...
