I recently had the pleasure of dining at Zizzi's Windsor, and I must say, my experience was nothing short of exceptional. While the food was delicious and the atmosphere warm and inviting, what truly made our evening unforgettable was the outstanding service provided by our waiter, Robert.

From the moment we were seated, Robert greeted us with a genuine smile and a welcoming attitude. His friendly demeanor immediately put us at ease and set the tone for a wonderful dining experience. He took the time to explain the menu, offer recommendations, and even accommodated some special dietary requests with ease and professionalism.

Robert’s knowledge of the menu was impressive. He recommended the Rustica Pizza and the King Prawn Linguine, both of which were absolutely delicious. His passion for the food was evident, and it was clear he takes pride in ensuring guests enjoy every aspect of their meal.

Throughout the evening, Robert consistently checked in on us without being intrusive. He refilled drinks promptly and made sure we had everything we needed. His attention to detail and ability to anticipate our needs were truly commendable.

We lunched at Zizzi on the Windsor High Street at noon, yesterday. When we entered the restaurant, there were about three occupied tables, with the rest of the tables there empty. There was a sign that asked us to wait to be seated, which we did. It took Casper, the restaurant manager five minutes to come up and attend to us. When we asked for a table for three, he pulled out his phone and scrolled through it making it out to be like it the restaurant was full and that he was struggling to find us seating. When we suggested a table at the entrance, he said, “Okay fine, sit there” in a tone that sounded like he was doing us a favour. We placed our order with our very clinical and unfriendly waiter, Stuart. While we waited for our food to arrive, given that we were seated at a table diagonally opposite the entrance, we were able to observe how other guests who came in after us were received. It was shocking to see that Caucasian customers were received and seated almost immediately without the phone app being consulted, while the non-Caucasian guests (mainly Asian) ended up having to wait for a few minutes before they were attended to. When it came to us being served, Stuart had brought my sister’s spaghetti carbonara, my niece’s pizza and my bruschetta (which was terrible!) and pork and garlic cheese balls. In the interim, we observed Stuart waiting on a Caucasian family with him being very friendly and attentive to them. I had noticed that my sister did not receive Parmesan cheese to go with her carbonara. After multiple attempts, I managed to get Stuart’s attention several minutes later, with the carbonara going cold, and asked him why my sister had not got the Parmesan cheese with her dish, he simply said, “I forgot.” There was so apology for his oversight. We finished our meal and spoke to the manager, Casper, about the racial bias that my family and I had experienced at Zizzi, instead of listening and trying to understand what I was say, he interjected with, “Let me explain.” It was clearly apparent to me that dining at Zizzi, while the food is mediocre to good, depending on what one orders, it comes with a generous dollop of...
