Supporting our team vs Blackpool FC ,we decided as a group of us to turn it into a weekend away ,Friday night we needed somewhere close by to our hotel to watch an international game ,The Excelsior was recommended & what a great experience we had ,the pub has plenty of beers lagers & ciders to choice from & at £3.60 for a pint of lager comes in cheaper than my local back home
Lovely people very friendly & chatty even the Landlady & Landlord but the star of the show has to be the Queen of Shots Lou The Manageress
Now I am not one for shots I like the odd top shelf tipple but some of the younger members of our group fancied a few so we started buying some of the shot offers available ranging from Haggis Bombs to Baby Guinness i did feel very light headed the following day !!
We stay until virtually kicking out time & too everyone's amazement Lou gave us all a hug & thanked us for spending the evening in there ,in all the years of visiting bars all around the UK that personal touch is something I have never experienced before !
We returned on Saturday evening too Karaoke was on ,my friend stepping up to sing twice ,food was laid out around the pub and offered around the customers (having already eaten I declined but there was plenty to go around ,The Excelsior had a function going on upstairs
Had a cracking laugh watching some lad celebrate his 21st with a regular female customer giving him a funny personal dance while singing on the karaoke to Patricia The Stripper
Once again as it come close to closing time Lou The Manageress thanked us for coming with a goodbye hug & wishes
The location of the pub is on Lytham Road a couple of minutes away from Blackpool FC on Bloomfield Road 10/15 mins from Central Pier
I love a pub away from all the hustle & bustle of all the attractions and The Excelsior is a perfect place for that ,made to feel welcome & everyone very sociable if you want somewhere to enjoy a drink of an evening then this is the place to go !!
Thanks for all your hospitality we will see you...
Read morePoor, low level of customer interacrion and what was of the level was both derogatory and abusive. DJ claimed it was his pub, which if so is even more astounding that he used language and stance. From my background, Manchester, we know both how to deliver and accept banter, but when pushed outside surrounded by 6/7 people it compounds what Blackpool has become. As havingvbeen in both customer service, hotel environment etc for many years, my proactive comment would be, choose staff that can deal with customers in multi ways, as customers who frequent your establishment may choose to go elsewhere. As clearly shown by the amount of...
Read moreThis is great place to watch sport. They always have the main game on if you watch football and probably a couple of the minor games too. They have a video projector and screen for the main screen along with a number of other screens. The staff is always friendly and the bar is very clean. There is a reasonable selection of beers at very good prices. A print of stella is only £3.20 and there a good double up deal on spirits too. They have plenty of entertainment too with karaoke and...
