Myself and my wife visited the waterfront today after being recommended by my wife's parents who visited last week.. With what started out OK ended with us feeling uncomfortable during our lunch.. As we were approached by a senior member of staff and asked not to laugh in one of thier waitresses faces.. We were taken aback by such an accusation. I'm 51 and my wife 44 who works in catering. Not like we were a pair of adolescents.. On entering the premises via the patio I approached a waitress clearing a table and asked if it was OK to seat ourselves at an available table that was free. She said I would have to go to door and wait to be seated as she wasn't allowed to seat customers. I thanked her and continued to door without laughing in her face where another member of staff promptly seated us.. I can only assume it was said waitress that made complaint against us.. All said and done although staff were apologetic. We think the whole situation could have been handled better and differently. Therefore shall not be...

Just like numerous other reviews about this cafe, my friends and I experienced the same UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR! Superficially looking at the rating, we chose to go to this cafe as it was closest to us and we were extremely hungry from our travel. And as soon as we entered, we saw that the tables were almost fully occupied and reading the sign "wait here for being seated' we waited. A lady from the counter mouthed 'we are full' and we mouthed 'that's okay' and just waited. She then left her counter, came to us and said "You cannot eat this here!" (pointing at sandwich box my friend had in her hand SO RUDELY). My friend said "Our friend here is going to eat" and she gave us a disgusted look saying "Sorry, but we are full". To which my friend asked "how long is the wait expected to be". She replied "I don't know, 15-30 mins". We said "Okay" and obviously LEFT! Because she clearly wanted us to get the f out of there from the moment we came. NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH DISRESPECT and RUDE behavior before! WILL NEVER...

Don't let the outdoor table set up draw you in on a sunny day...the likelihood is all the tables outside are taken and if not they have leftover food with seagulls eating from them. So: get inside and are seated. Takes quite a while for anyone to come and take order and we had ordered first for the children then to come back and take adult order but they brought allll the food out at the same time. It was a long wait for the food to arrive and just lucky the kids didn't kick off! Food was fine, nothing to write home about and we had to follow up for receiving our side orders. Staff need trained. I looked around and there were a fair number of tables looking miserable, looking around for a waitress to help or even take an order. A couple beside us waited 20 mins to be given a drink. Toilets are pretty yuck. My husband told me the men's were disgusting and the women's floor needs a good clean.. nothing enticing us back, I am...

We had just moved to Stonehaven and soon discovered this old style diner. A picture of Benedict Cumberbatch caught our eye as we went in. Just one of the many celebrities who have also discovered this seafront gem. We were seated quickly by the friendly staff and we soon had the full English breakfast I’d been craving while in the US. We went back a few more times during our few weeks visit and the experience was equally great. I particularly appreciated the pouring cream I’d asked for my coffee. The only minor nit is having to request marmalade for my toast. We love this place and can’t wait to get back.

Don't let the narrow retro signed entrance fool you, this is just a portal into a spacious and modern cafe restaurant setting with a wall of glass opening up to the Seashore. On nicer days you may sit inside or out. The girls that were serving at this lunchtime were very polite and efficient. I found the food offering to be on the expensive side but not extortionate, the quality of my soup and sandwich combo justifying it's own pricetag superbly. Plenty seating and space for wheelchair users and baby buggies, I think there are no steps front the main street.

Friendly service, great food, I had the small vegetarian all day breakfast and it was lovely 😋 my friend had the battered fish and chips and the batter and fish itself looked lovely and fresh. If I could make a suggestion it would be that the kerb at the beach side entrance be lowered to make it easier for people with a mobility scooter/wheelchair/walker to continue up the ramp to the cafe 👍
