This place is amazing, we asked our hosts for a good place to eat and they said to come here. Delicious Italian food, pasta and pizza and a great atmosphere. Staff were really great and the Boss was a star landlord, we enjoyed the place so much we went back for burger and chips the next day and that was superb. Very busy pub with lots of people eating and you can see why with food this good. We don't live that far away and pop to Hay every now and then for a day out and now we've found our fav pub in Hay. Thanks and see you next time. Nathan and Lynne P.S Went back again for a pizza as we were peckish and shared one and had a couple of pints. The barman with the shaved head who had looked after us all weekend was amazing once again. However when I came to pay for my food there was another couple with a baby that wanted to pay and the other barman with black hair asked who was next. I said let them go first and he served them, then ignored me and served five other people before coming back to me, leaving me standing. The other nice barman with shaved head picked up on it and said I'll be with you as soon as I can. We had eaten there three times this weekend and felt really looked after by the first barman, I cannot thank him enough. However I felt the arrogance of the second barman really blew it for us and now I think let's not go back.
Shame it tinged the service there, because if I don't say anything...
Read moreI just wanted to say what a delight it was to have our wedding lunch at the three tuns on Saturday 9th of March, from the point of booking (our first time visiting there!) through to the day itself the staff were so helpful, accommodating of our specific planning requirements (dogs welcome as well!) and were just so friendly! I'm not normally someone who writes reviews but i couldnt resist on this occasion! There was a small group of us in the end but we booked for maximum of twelve people. They gave us a private area that was absolutely beautifully set for us newlyweds! (Complete surprise!! and I don't believe there was any extra charge for that?) With the warm glow of twinkling fairylights along the beams and flower petals scattered on the tables - I nearly cried it was so beautiful and cosy! And a bottle of bubbly on the house too!The food and drinks were so lovely (we all had a mixture of things but everybody commented on how tasty theirs was!) And they whipped up myself and mother in law the most gorgeous mocktails which weren't even on their menu, just because that's what we fancied! Oh my goodness - basically thank you so so much to you all at the three tuns, you made our special day extra special! We cant wait to come back soon! And all you people looking for a good place to go, LOOK NO FURTHER (seriously...
Read moreWell worth a visit and we will be adding The three Tuns to our holiday let information pack for a great place to eat and drink. We went for my husband's 60th Sunday lunch birthday with 12 family members. They accommodated us with a days notice and we pre ordered our lunch option to assist. The food was amazing. The roast beef was the best we have had anywhere (everyone agreed) and there was plenty of veg to go along with it. I did not have the pork but that was equally delicious apparently. They also accommodated for 2 Gluten Free lunches. The staff were all friendly, efficient and had the "can do" attitude so sorely missed these days. Not easy to get 12 lunches out on the table one after the other and running up and down the stairs for any extra requests but the staff managed seamlessly. We also bought in a cake which they lit and sang happy birthday to the birthday Boy (old man) with us. The place is like Aladdin's cave inside and very quirky. We remember when it was a pub that looked like someone's Grandmas front room ( full of character) fortunately the fizzy drinks are no longer flat haha. Thanks again to all the staff you were...
