Went in without a reservation, the barman was friendly and referred us to his colleague who advised on when a table might be ready, he knew exactly how many people were waiting, what was popular, what was running out and had excellent working knowledge.||We waited at the bar and the barman was very pleasant, advising us on portion sizes and could advise on ingredients. Good choice of craft ales such as Buttybach, Lucky 7.||When we got seated, we had delicious rustic bread and olives, which were a bit unusual as the olives had cumin on, the portions were very generous and olive oil and balsamic were available on the table.||We had the meatballs, they were delicious, crumbly and herby, tasty. Very nice atmosphere and great food. Open fire to keep the cold out. Standard menu isn't the most varied but there was also a great selection on the specials board which more than compensated. This appeared to be deliberate so that repeat visitors won't get bored. Food was presented very well and arrived in good time. Free WiFi with visible password and without any sign up hoops to jump through. Soft drink selection was more interesting than the usual cola etc, offering carbonated elderflower, ginger and raspberry based waters. This isn't the cheapest menu in the world but far from overpriced and is worth it. 6 tapas dishes (including a potatas bravas portion that was huge), a small bread selection, 2 soft drinks and a hot chocolate was little over £30.
