Hay Conservative Club — Restaurant in Wales

Despite the claims by other eateries around area,give this place a go at least once meal was fantastic. During our stay here we tried quite a few and most of them were so tiny it was ridiculous. And expensive !! And I'm from London and we invented expensive eating out.

If you are after cordon bleau cookery then use the others. But if you want a meal that's so big you cannot finish it without fear of bursting then this is the place to go.

My only regret! Finding it on the last night here as I would definitely eat here again.

Whilst I'm at it forget paying ridiculous amounts for breakfast in your hotel try Angies cafe just round corner . Great food and the insults...

Entered the establishment to be welcomed by a very surly and rude gentleman at the bar. We came in to watch a football match and were about to order a drink. My son came over exclaiming Liverpool had scored with a big smile on his face. The barman actually complained to me that my son had celebrated asking him to be quiet! Anyhow, my son and I looked quizzically at each other, realised the barman wasn't even worth a response and turned around to head out. This person needs to work on his people skills!...

I arrived hoping to be fitted in for a Sunday lunch on the off chance, despite being fully booked they fitted me in. I had a mixture of lamb and pork, both plentiful and beautiful. The veg accompaniments were beautifully cooked and again plentiful, lashings of thick,rich gravy. I can't recommend it highly enough. Bar staff friendly...
