Upon arrival the blackboard clearly stated cakes were £1.50 and all teas were £1.50, so me and my partner ordered cake each and two chai teas. Instead of a bill for £6 we were charged £9! When we ordered chai tea he asked if chai latte tea would suffice as they had run out of chai plain. We agreed. We were then asked what milk we wanted and we said we wanted the chai tea without milk but we're told it had to be with milk. So we said that was fine. When the £9 bill arrived we were told we were being charged extra for the unwanted milk because it was a chai latte tea not a chai tea, when we complained instead of agreeing to only charge £1.50 for all teas because the issue was with his side not ours, the gentlemen said pay full price of £2.00 or he will pour our tea away. When I asked about the cake, was informed only certain cakes, once again ours was going to be extra.

Wasn't worth arguing as even the slightest refund was heavily contested so they can keep their money and loose our future business, enjoy...

Saw that the reviews were pretty good and a lady in one of the bookshops recommended it so we tried it for lunch whilst in Hay last week. The coffee was excellent and my hubby and I both had cheese burgers whilst our friend had a bacon and egg bap (all on sour dough baps) from the outdoor barbeque and they were delicious! Organic beef was used and whilst we aren't big burger eaters, I would definitely have another! Usefully whilst there is plenty of outdoor seating, it wasn't a particularly warm day, we were able to sit indoors in what felt like the wine cellar! Absolutely delightful find! So happy I ran across this cute little garden cafe I believe I had the tomato and basil toasty and it was the best toasty I have had so far! Would love to come back one day (unfortunately don’t live so close) would highly recommend!
