Tiien Thai Southbourne — Restaurant in Great Britain

We were a party of 8 and prebooked a table for 7.30pm on a Saturday night. We were greeted warmly by the restaurant staff and owners. The atmosphere was mellow and the space cozy. We we served drinks and they arrived quickly. The menu was full of choice both meat and vegetarian and prices seemed in line with the times.

Eventually staff took our order, it was more of a wait than you'd expect but our party let's say were slightly chatty so maybe they let us settle in. The space was small, warm and decor tidy. So, the food arrived and looked well presented. Everyone mentioned they enjoyed the starters. My wife and i decided on the vegetarian set menu for 2 so can only comment on that, the selection of mini starters from pancake roll to mushroom on toast were what you'd expect. The main vegetarian meal was delightful and the occupying rice was perfect. We did try and ask to swap something on our set menu for something from the main menu but the member of staff didn't want to entertain this. I felt that was slightly strange as it was a normal thing to ask.

Overall I thought this new Thai restaurant deserved a 4 star for my experience plus the food being fresh and service warm and professional. I'm also grateful for another small business trying to improve SOBO. We visited Tiien the other day having driven past it many times, oh how I wished we had gone in sooner!!
