On arrival toilet seat was broken and there was hairs behind the bathroom door. Maintenance man was called to come fix the toilet. The walls are wafer thin and our neighbours were noisy. In and out of their room and talking loud. Slamming doors and creaking floorboards. Had to call the night porter several times and sometimes it would call for a few times then change to the busy ring tone. Had to go downstairs in the end and then they came and knocked on the door several times. I had to go and speak to them in the end on several occasions as I had my children with me and they couldn’t sleep either. They finally stopped being as loud by 12am. The next morning their alarms started going off at 5.45am every 5 mins. Called the night porter and no answer. Went downstairs to reception and the shutters were closed. Had to ring the doorbell outside to wake the night porter up who appeared from a room by the front door. Told him what was going on and he said he would talk to them. As we were going up the stairs he said he would ring the people next doors boss as they worked in the hotel and they were foreign students. I have no idea why he didn’t contact them last night. He followed me up the stairs and waited for me to go in my room and he waited outside their door for a bit while the alarm was going off still. I didn’t hear him knock. Next thing I hear is them getting up and same as the night before talking loud, banging on doors and slamming them. Walking up and down the corridors. Woke both myself and my children up. Had the worst nights sleep in a long time and paid £136 plus £10 parking for the experience. No breakfast included. Don’t know how these hotels get away with it. Makes you think why it’s been closed for so long. Certainly not to redecorate. It’s mediocre at best. Spend a bit more and get someone more peaceful. I’ve seen better deals online than this that have pools and...
Read moreSo we booked for 1 night, family room and 1 double room. We recieved a email 3 days before our stay to be informed breakfast was not included in our visit as the kitchen needed major work done to it (this wasn't a big deal but we still wasn't happy with this as we had to pay another £30 for breakfast somewhere else, however they did reduce the cost of the rooms). We arrived to a rude and arrogant receptionist who wasn't familiar with English and was not helpful in the slightest (the younger girl was more friendly I must say). The beds where good the room was clean so can't complain there. There is 1 little lift only suitable for luggage. We was ready to departure and hand our keys back and the lady who was rude from the beginning was on the phone I waited and waited and she just shook her hand and me and said "Yes OK, you go now" no questions about our visit or thanking us for our custom.. I would not recommend this place to anyone, unless you don't care about service of course. There is major room for improvement on customer service relations. Hotel is situated right near town which was an upside but never again for me I'm afraid.. Also it appears this place is bring renamed as the piccadilly hotel...
Read moreI was here two weeks in July. I had requested a quiet room in advance and that wish came true. My room was small double room and that was really small, but I managed. The room was otherwise clean, but during the long stay, the room was cleaned too rarely (two times in two weeks; first on thursday and then on same weeks saturday. I was there sunday-sunday-saturday. In the last week there was no cleaning at all). In particular, the filling of garbage can was a problem. Because there is no breakfast and restaurant you have to buy packed food to your room and this easily produces a lot of garbage. Therefore, the lack of a refrigerator in the room can easily become a problem during a long stay. The bed was better than expected.||Also, from my point of view, the staff at the reception was a bit rude. ||But location is very good, near the beach and town center. ||I would say that it is an ok...
