It's been a long time since I've been here. So I thought it was time to visit and review, as a few friends had said the food was good.

First impressions was not so good with the scaffolding in front and awkward to get to the front door. Of which I noticed the letterbox was hanging off.

We were keenly greeted by a hostess who gave us a pick of tables, it wasn't busy for a Saturday night. My seat, I immediately noticed the cover was split and some was missing. I went to sit and the chair wobbled badly so I swapped it for another, this also was in bad repair but better than the first.

Our friends arrived and we ordered drinks from the menu to which we were told no cocktails no Thai beer on tap as no gas and no strawberry Fanta. So a random 3 out of 4 drinks weren't available.

We ordered a few starters to share and I can genuinely say they were good, a sharing platter for 2, tempura chicken and grilled pork skewers, all tasted good and I felt a little releaved as at least the food started well. A little unsure about battered vegetables though.

The hostesses were keen to check everything was OK and see if we needed more drinks. But it was a little difficult as their stock was so low it was more like what is available rather than having what you wanted.

The mains we ordered were, Thai red chicken curry, pork drunken noodles (hot and spicy), oyster chicken stir fry and khao pad pak (a bit like a biryani). These were all completely different and we tried each other's. My drunken noodles are not for the faint hearted. I enjoyed the flavour of the red Thai curry. The least liked was the stir fry.

When we came to pay we were told their card machine wasn't working and had to pay through an app on a phone.

I'm really pleased with the food, it made the night go well, lifted the evening. But if you're looking for a fancy romantic place to eat I wouldn't recommend it. It looks tired, lacking stock, if I was to guess it seems like the are running dry ready to close. We even asked them and they said they weren't.

The toilets were clean but small and unisex.

The friendliness of the staff and tasty food has saved this from a terrible score. I rate this as 3.1* out of 5 stars.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!! Very rude and obnoxious owner who by his own words “doesn’t need the money”! We booked for 3 kids and 2 adults. I have a taste card which I always use as it’s great value for money. We arrived at 18:30 and were shown to our table. We gave our order and after 35 minutes asked the so called owner politely how long the food would be as we had 3 children who were becoming agitated due to hunger. At this point the male with a pony tail stated “no need to be rude, I am the owner. I do not need your money” I was shocked at the response along with other customers who were also dining. He stated there was a table of 8 and two tables of 4 before and preceded to give me the bill for the drinks. Very bad customer service !!! I would avoid this place at all costs as the owner has zero customer service skills. It’s also known that you can judge a restaurant’s hygiene standards by their toilets….toilets were disgusting !!! I regret paying for my drinks however I always pay my way. Beware, the staff and owner look down at you for using discounts. I myself own a few fast food establishments and can appreciate how difficult business can be, however a simple apology and an update on food times would suffice. Not an arrogant person shouting he doesn’t need money and scaring my children as they thought he was going to become violent.

****EDIT FURTHER TO THE OWNER RESPONSE

At no point were we rude to the waitress, this is a blatant lie . We simply asked her how long the food would be to which she said still a few minutes. After 10 minutes we asked the owner how long for the food - There is no need to lie. One of the toilets had a a screw in the stopper on the door (tacky) male and female were not clearly marked and a urinal was covered with a bin bag. They did look like they had not been cleaned in a while. We actually stood up to leave, service was not refused. If you are unable to afford the discounts offered by Taste Card then it maybe a good idea to not offer this as I’m sure it does bring in footfall. Once again, your amateur unprofessional attitude needs to be sorted out. There’s many management courses available for you to...

Been twice for takeaway when staying here on holiday. Food not bad but it is so expensive and not worth the money. It’s more expensive than London and Thai in London is much nicer. They also have no takeaway menus. To follow on from restaurant response. Fresh Thai ingredients can be ordered online. Noodles and chicken are readily available in all areas as is garlic, fish sauce. It is a joke to believe you drive to London or bury st Edmunds when Thai basil and similar is guaranteed fresh purchased online. You say you charge no more than other Thai in the area, there are no other Thai restaurants in the area! Don’t get me wrong your food is quite nice and portions generous. But if you fancy Thai in the area you are stuck with your place. Which you have to pay over the odds for. Again so this is not seen as a fatally bad review I repeat portion size is good and food not bad. But it is overly expensive. You can’t compare to similar restaurants as there are none. Takeaway service is slow. No 1 on trip advisor in the area defaults to you because you are the only one...

All friendly staff. Walked in absolutely starving but this freshly cooked meal was worth the wait - mouths watering just thinking about it 🤤😍😍 we thought we were going to struggle to find anything veggie other then chips by the beach but oh my goodness!!! The mock duck was beautiful, Pad Thai was amazing, steamed veg and rice, big portions so the three dishes were more then enough for the two of us! 2 for 10 cocktails before 8pm. .... AND the service was great with friendly and helpful staff 👍 👌 thank you, and who ever the chef is 😍😍😍😍🤩

Big sign outside promoting Happy Hour cocktail only after we sat down to find out that not only they don't do Happy Hour, they don't serve cocktail at all! They said it's for summer. We then ordered a pint which was on the menu but was again told that it's only for the summer. Felt like being deceived. Food was overpriced for both quality and quantity. Pork option is to avoid. It was bland and dry. Worst meal we had over the weekend at Great Yarmouth.
