Had a pre-booked afternoon tea that was purchased for a birthday present we found the food itself to be āokā at best and adequate however as far as the room experience with the cats go we found it very monitored and a bit creepy as whatever you were looking at or whenever you had an encounter with a cat you feel watched like a hawk with signs everywhere even in the bathroom telling you what to do and what not to touch⦠found this very off putting and make it feel uncomfortable as several times even sitting eating our food we felt rushed for time and being watched⦠which was a shame because as a fan of retro items (of which there was lots) it would of been nice to feel like you had some freedom to have a good look roundā¦. Overall very average food and underwhelming experience with not enough cats!
Also i have read the reply from you below and also find this unrealistic as you didnāt do anything special to āaccommodateā us as you imply, all you did was simply swap our white bread order for brownā¦. And we know all about your āmissionā as we had read this online our review still stands oh and it would be nice of you to at least spell my name correctly and it might be an idea to have unlimited tea with an afternoon tea as this is the whole point rather than commenting on us wanting a simple top up of hot water?!⦠plus as for being āover our timeā we were never told we had a time slot from the moment we sat down! Only to be told after about half an hour⦠you have 15mins of your slot left?! Surely u could of told us of how long we were allowed when we sat down! thanks for your reply :)⦠ps please donāt make out its āoddā for you to receive negative feedback as just a simple scroll down your review section says otherwise with most people saying the same things as we have brought up so good to know you take negative...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSince seeing a program on Japan ( James May: Our Man In Japan ) and seeing the cat cafe there, she has been obsessed about going to Japan to go to one! Not easy at the moment (or cheap!) so a quick Google to see if there were any in the UK and surprised to see there was one in Gt Yarmouth which is about 40min drive from us. Result! So booked up a slot as soon as possible, and didn't tell her, just said we were going to Yarmouth for the day - the look of "do we have to" to surprise on her face when I stood outside and I said I fancy a coffee, shall we go in this cafe and then she saw the cats was brilliant. So at present due to Covid the owners allow only your booked bubble in for your 45 minute slot, which allows them time to clean. In our case it was just the 2 of us and we started with a quick read through of the ground rules which were straight forward. There is a small fee per person and the menu is shown on their website and nothing is very expensive. The cafe is also decorated with quite a lot of retro items (one being a Raleigh Chopper!). So a quick order of pancakes, juice and a milk shake and it was time to be introduced to the cats. The owners as stated in other reviews were very friendly and gave lots of info about each cat and their personality. My daughter was in cat heaven and enjoyed are 45 minutes immensely. Stanley was the most playful so she enjoyed playing with him, and her favourite was the Sphinx cat which she had never seen before (If the owners read this, what was the Sphinx cats name, we couldn't remember). Coconut had had an accident so has 3 legs, and due to vets visit the day before Teddy was a little sleepy. So a very enjoyable visit and my daughter loved it and...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePerfect cafe for any cat lovers right there, there is a Ā£3 entry fee without food ( 2 people ) but if you think about it itās not too much of a issue due to expenses for the cats and what requirements are needed for a cafe like this, food is quite decent had Sugar and Cinnamon pancakes with a Iced Coffee and it was quite tasty pancakes were really fluffy and soft and the iced coffee was quite good as well donāt worry they do provide plastic covers just in case cats jump up on tablet so no need to worry about cat hair in food they also make all the food in a gated area away from cats so no need to worry about cats in the kitchen, they are rules to this place like no picking up cats, you can touch cats but certain areas like bum are recommended not to touch and also can take photos but turn flash off all rules will be explained from the staff all these rules make sense for the welfare and safety of both you and the cats this is as some of the cats have various problems like epilepsy, you will also need to put on hand sanitizer provided by staff before entering, personally like how the cats are able to roam free and sleep whenever they want and are not confined to a certain area, all cats are rescue cats and they all seem to get looked after really well, various different breeds of cats and all 6 cats info can be found on website, atmosphere is really quiet and inside reminds me of a 80s 90s style retro gaming cat, staff are really friendly and are very welcoming, toilets are actually quite clean, overall really good cafe if your a cat lover just make sure to follow any rules that have been put in place by staff and you should have quite a...
