We had an absolute blast at the Marina Leisure Centre. The changing rooms are excellent, clean and don't smell! Lots of large family changing rooms. Varying size lockers which take a £1/trolley token which is returned to you. Showers upon entry to the pool- lots of them, hot and are of a good power. The kids area is just fab. It's separate from the main pool and overall about 40cm deep? 1 good size enclosed slide and two open slides side by side. Water bucket tips periodically over the top of the slide and there are other water cannons and water spouts etc. My 5 year old and 3 year old loved it. Water was fairly warm, the adults and 5 year old were fine through our 1hr15 session but the 3 year old got cold towards the end. This pool looks out onto the beach which was lovely. There is a smaller teaching pool which was in use at the time of our visit and appeared to be a good size and then a full size pool with spectating area down one side. Again, this pool was warm enough. There are single cubical showers which were very handy to shower myself and the kids and the use of the hair dryers on exit are free. Which I thought was great. The staff at the centre are lovely. I accidentally booked something for the following week rather than the day we turned up. And had booked swimming for the afternoon. The lady moved our booking for us so we could swim earlier and didn't have to hang around Parking is free for 3 hours but you must validate by giving them your vehicle registration. The cafe was nice. We all are lunch and there were no complaints. The clip and climb section looks like fun but we didn't do it. Overall I was very impressed with this leisure centre and will definitely be back, thank you Forgot to add... There are two large enclosed slides (the ones that go outside before coming back inside into a landing pool). We didn't go on them because my eldest wasn't happy to go on alone but they looked like they would be good fun. It is worth noting they are one user at a time (so no kids on laps) and there is a height limit (but I don't recall what it was, sorry)

The fitness/weight room has been updated with new equipment and air conditioning - very good gym now - a lick of paint to the fitness room has finished off the experience. Monday evenings are very busy. Just downgraded this review to a 1 star due to the fact at the smallest reason eg potential SNOW this leisure centre shuts its doors and goes on to say what a fantastic team it has even though with clear roads and no snow they close. I hope a refund is incoming for all the SNOW days it has been closed POOR POOR POOR

Took the kids to clip n' climb at Marina Center on Christmas eve. Charley and Colton were our instructors. They were both really friendly, helpful and great with the kids. They encouraged them without pushing them and we all had a great time. Facilities were clean and tidy and lots of walls to climb on. We'll definitely go back. Thank you Charley and Colton

I'm only giving this place a star because well i will explain: TERRIBLE service at the desk !! To busy chatting to the cleaner and the kiosk lady about life to bother noticing i was there , once i was noticed i asked if i could give my baby her food upstairs (we were going to play in the play area) i was told no. To then be told if i wanted my baby to eat i have to purchase there food ( sandwich , crisps , yogurt and a drink) my LG is one and lactose intolerant. After paying i asked if there was a lift to be once again ignored , i then had to ask again to be told its broken , one of the receptionists shouted to the Actual boss of the place asking if he could help me up the stairs ... his reply was no i have a bad back , they then just left me there standing after 5 mins of 4 people just chatting about life and not even bothering to realize i was still down stairs waiting for help , i asked again if i could get some help for 3 staff members ( 2 receptionists and the cleaner to say to me We can't we have a bad back!!! That makes 4 out of 5 staff on the floor have a "bad back". 10 mins had go past by then i decided i will do it my self Once i actually moved one of them well Oh well i guess I'm going to have to help Dont worry i will just do it with my bad back. So she helped me up the stairs and told me that the one who shouted No he had a bad back was intafact the boss! I got up stairs to a beautiful veiw of the swimming pool and beach. To arrive at the most dirstest dangerous Play area i have ever been to. Floors arr covered in rusty circles , stairs in the ball pit have no padding at all Just a red cover over them , the left side of the ball pit were the slide is , There are hardly any balls because The flooring is so destroyed the balls have gone underneath (not just 1 or 2 balls MOST of them). The big slide has a MASSIVE bump and hole in it ( were the parts of the slide is connected its broken and has a hole and bump) The toddler play area is alright bit again stairs have no padding on. Then to top it all of There is NOBODY upstairs , if something happened to you child or there was an incedent upstairs you would have to run all the way down the corridor and stairs to Hope that one of the 4 people down stairs realise something is wrong. The 1 star is for the young lad who i just happened to bump in to on my way back towards the stairs ( a worker there) helped me Down the stairs and was so polite and kind he helped me down the stairs with out asking just assumed i would need help ! I never leave bad feed back to places ive been not even when there was a dirty nappy in a ball pit i last went to!! This place was truly terrible Will never come back here , by far the worst place...

We went as a family here yesterday Sunday 2nd Feb, it was to take our 3 year old to her first swimming pool. Being new I expected great facilities. The spalsjlh pool was fun, but so cold, we could feel cold air conditioning being blow down at us, so daughter was teeth chattering, the water so cold when it splashed on her she got scared of the slide (in summer I can imagine this is great to cool down, bit it sucks when it's the middle of winter) So we took her to the kids pool, a bit warmer but a meter deep all round, why is there not a gradient, our 3 nearly 4 year old is small and not even a meter tall, she was so scared her feet couldn't touch the bottom, she clung to me and her dad for dear life the entire time, she had a float vest on, but still the fear was there, she kept wanting to just sit on the edge so she was getting cold all the time, when it came to going home she was too scared and cold to move of the ledge. I took her to the big pool to see her dad and it was freezing! When I had to take her to the toilet, her first time using a public toilet wiout her travel potty, and it was like I'd just gone out side, it was freezing cold, nothing like being wet and cold and then to go to unheated toilets and change rooms. Considering we paid £9 for each of the 3 adults it wasn't fun at all. Time to get changed the floor was filthy, the walls were filthy it certainly hadn't been cleaned for days, a place with this turn over should be cleaned on the hour. And the lockers fair enough a returnable pound, but most of the straps are broken and unusable so we had to use 3 lockers instead of 1 together.

£28 not well spent, the pools are cold, the toilets are cold, the air is cold and the changing rooms and cold and floors are filthy, the free hair dryers are a nice touch, but once again half of them don't work. Why would they have a kids pool without a gradient it doesn't make sense, the place is new but completely run down. Oh and the cafe area has a 1 hour queue, the floors and tables are covered in food, and the glass view to the pool is also filthy. How can a business that seems to be raking it in do so poorly on the upkeep? Is it heavily subsidised for residents causelign a lack of investment? Dunno but I doubt I'd be going here again it's run down...
