Saras Tearoom, located in Great Yarmouth, offers a delightful experience for visitors seeking a charming and retro atmosphere. As we arrived in the morning, we were immediately struck by the tearoom's quaint appearance, accentuated by faded exterior wood designs that added a touch of nostalgia. Preserving historical elements in establishments like Saras Tearoom is commendable as it allows future generations to appreciate and learn from the past.
Upon entering, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff, creating a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. Eager to sample their offerings before heading out to explore Great Yarmouth Beach, we indulged in some delectable treats. My partner opted for the Cherry Bakewell Slice, while I chose the classic combination of a scone with jam and clotted cream.
The quality of the food surpassed our expectations, as the baked goods were not only aesthetically pleasing but also incredibly fresh and flavorful. One aspect I particularly appreciated was that the clotted cream was served in its tub, allowing me to personalise the amount I desired on my scone. Naturally, I couldn't resist consuming the entire serving. As we enjoyed our food, the delightful aromas wafting from other patrons' plates piqued our curiosity, leaving us eager to return and try out their famous burgers on a future visit.
Saras Tearoom offers a variety of seating options to cater to different preferences. Whether one prefers the front of the tea room, the cosy interior, or even a spot near the beach, there is a suitable place for every visitor. Additionally, we were pleased to discover that the tearoom is dog-friendly, indicated by a sign that reads, "Well-behaved dogs welcome but strictly no barking, please keep your dog off tables, chairs and laps, dogs must be kept on a lead and under control at all times and to keep all walkways clear." This thoughtful accommodation for four-legged friends adds to the tearoom's inclusive and welcoming ambience.
Furthermore, Saras Tearoom understands the needs of larger groups and offers reserved tables specifically for parties of six or more. This considerate touch ensures that families or larger gatherings can enjoy their time together without worrying about finding adequate seating arrangements.
In conclusion, our visit to Saras Tearoom was an enjoyable experience. The tearoom's retro charm, attentive staff, and delectable treats left a lasting impression. Whether you are a history enthusiast appreciating the preserved exterior, a food lover seeking delightful refreshments, or a group organiser needing suitable seating arrangements, Saras Tearoom caters to various preferences. We eagerly look forward to returning to sample their renowned burgers and create more fond memories in this delightful...
Read moreWe had our lunch here. The tearoom is easily accessible, alongside the promenade and just behind the upside down house. The place is dog friendly, both inside and outside. There is a lot of seating, however we found it to be really busy. You order at the bar to the right where you come in. The menu is comprehensive and features favourites such as burgers, fish'n'chips, loaded fries, sandwiches, ploughman's, jacket potatoes and more. Everything is really reasonably priced. We had the chicken mayo ploughman's, BBQ pulled pork loaded fries and an afternoon tea. The portions were huge!! The afternoon tea comes with your choice of sandwich, crisps and side salad, a large piece of your choice of cake and a scone with cream and jam as well as a pot of tea. The food came really quickly and we were also brought a jug of water whilst we waited. The toilets were a unpleasant. I presume that lots of people use the tearoom's facilities without actually stopping for a meal. Overall, we liked our...
Read moreIll be honest here. I feel like half of these reviews are self made. Went in for a traditional breakfast. Right from the go they tried to keep my change. Got to my table there was drinks on there and it was obvious they hadnt whiped the table. When our drinks came the came with the cuttlery (no serviet wrapped around them) chucked straight on the dirty table that i wouldnt even put my elbows on. The latte was lets say warm to be fair about it £3.20. The breakfast its self was £8. The egg had NO liquidity to it completely dry yolk. The sausage had the consistency of minced dog meat. My favourite part was the bacon it was actually a nice honey glazed bacon i will give them that. So all in all i would give this place a generous 2 star. 1 star for being the only place open at 11:30 serving breakfasts on a sunday, half a star for the bacon and half a star purely because the place is basically ran by kids so i have to give some leniency.
Id have the bacon again. Gods...
