The Marine — Restaurant in Great Yarmouth

Needs serious money and time spending on it, could be a great place, but for us, it wasn't so good. Saw they served sunday roasts, so we went in. 10.95 for a dinner, 5.95 for a kiddies dinner + drinks. Waited around 30/40 mins in an empty pub, that should hsve been our clue! definitely not worth it, shredded bits of chicken, maybe a tablespoon full. If it was a large chicken they prob got at least 15 portions out of it. Everything else was cooked from frozen. Not nice at all. Kiddies meal was 4 nuggets that had clearly been in the freezer way too long, and a handful of frozen chips, (I asked for ketchup but it never came.) None of us hardly ate anything. The floor was covered in dog hairs, (only noticed after we'd paid) The ladies had what looked like feaces on the wall, scum around the toilet handles and seats. No soap in the dispenser either.

Then they started karaoke and the strangest noises were coming out of this woman's mouth. She was probably best thing. 😃 Then a staff member got up to sing, maybe she'd have been better off paying attention to some cleaning. We left and ate elsewhere, didn't even bother asking for a refund. My advice, clean the place up, hoover and clean the floors, get some professional help in the kitchen and for gods sake do something about the loo's.

Update next day. We had to rush back to our caravan, the 2 of us that had to chicken were violently sick with chronic diarrhea. Can't say it was the bit of food we did eat, but a massive coincidence...

Absolutely disgraceful!|We visited this establishment on Saturday evening 28/12/2024 after a visit to the Hippodrome. My friends ordered me a glass of white wine and I sat down. I watched as the bartender brought a wineglass around the corner from the main bar, rinsed it briefly under a bit of hot water from the coffee maker and then dried it on the bottom of his t-shirt! He then filled it with wine and took it back to the other part of the bar to give it to my friends. They brought it to me and I held it up to the light. It was utterly filthy! My friends took it back to him and asked for a clean glass. He did not apologise but brought me an empty glass which he thrust at me for me to pour my wine into. No apology, no word at all! I looked at the new (!) glass and it was equally as filthy as the first. I drank the wine, hoping that the alcohol would kill any germs! I have NEVER been in such an awful place. It should be shut down! We left without buying anything else....

Good location , that's all .|The entrance to the hotel is down the side of the building , you walk into dirty stained carpets In all the entrance areas . The stairs where awful and dirty . So many stairs , it's like a theme park just getting to your bedroom , also flashing ceiling lights to add to the atmosphere. |When you arrive at your bedroom , the toilet is a macerator , when you flush you can smell the previous people's waste . Was awful , made us feel really sick 😷. |The mattress was so uncomfortable, felt like you was laying on a concrete bed , no give at all . |I know it's a karaoke hotel (didn't when we booked ) it's very noisy full of drunk people trying to sing.|Check out is 10 am , breakfast starts at 11 ... What's the point . |So in conclusion if you like the smell of other people's waste and drunk singing this is the place for you ! |Also the number provided on Google doesn't work and the number by the entrance if you call no one...
