was very disappointed after all the recent good reviews. the thing that stood out the most was the terrible customer service and the lack of clear communications. one of the servers couldn’t understand very well, even basic things such as asking for water was too difficult to understand in which she had to get a colleague in order to be able to understand. the service was slow and unprofessional. whilst taking orders the other server kept pausing to have to look for numbers on the menu, which slowed the transaction a lot. even after all of that there were still so many mistakes, like they didn’t even know their own menu.
the children’s chicken noodles was full of vegetable and onions, if we wanted that we would have just ordered the noodles with veg. and the second time we ordered it with specifically no veg it came with veg. the children’s fried rice was mushy, wet and bland. we had to get it done again but it seemed like they just tossed it back in the pan. they were serving dishes one by one with 10-15 minute wait times in between one dish which is absolutely ridiculous. the ribs and chicken wings lacked flavour. the vegetable dishes were very bland as well. the sweet and sour soup was good in terms of flavour but it came out the first time without any prawns, which is what we ordered. when we told the lady she said it doesn’t come with prawns but they could do it for us, news flash it was on the menu. the bun bo hue was okay, decent amount of beef, soup had some flavour but could’ve had more, and came with the right aromatics.
overall it was just not very authentic, the service was flat out terrible, and the atmosphere was very...
Read moreThis is wholeheartedly, the best restaurant I’ve visited in UK. It’s a must-visit for our family when we have a holiday in Gt. Yarmouth.
The food is outstanding - we’ve ordered beef pho, the spicy noodles (can’t remember its name), Vietnamese milk iced coffee, homemade lemonade with orange juice and a kids meal. The noodle dishes are scrumptious, satiable and hearty, full of favour, I’m a Chinese national and still very satisfied. The coffee is insanely good, the dripping filter made it very satisfying, and the taste was strong, aromatic and balance. The lemonade is extraordinarily replenishing and taste of freshness.
The kids meal is exceptional - it came in a unicorn bag with toys, tissue, prawn crackers and chosen fried rice. Incredible good value.
Later we discovered the photo albums - full of great things the restaurant has done to Vietnamese orphans like giving presents. It brought my eyes teary as such kindness is rare to see, coming from an independent business owner rather than big organizations. We bought goodie bags which will contribute to the kindness project and have also donated to them. The goodie bag is incredible! I didn’t expect from £4 as it’s charity but I’m surprise to receive nice shower gel, stationary and tools. Thank you!
It’s a place we will for sure...
Read moreHonestly, we couldn’t have been more disappointed. We were very excited to eat here as the food looked great and it seemed really authentic.
Arrived Sat eve, approx 6:30pm, myself partner and toddler. Greeted and warned it maybe slow due to only x2 chefs. The entire restaurant only seats x6 tables so we were happy to wait. We ordered and specifically asked for the child’s noodles to come out asap. The two waitresses were of no help. It made no sense that the chefs were so busy when it was such a tiny restaurant.
An hour later, we were still patiently waiting and still no kids food or starters. Another table left at this point and thats when we realised they were too busy doing takeaway orders to look after us in the restaurant. At 8pm we decided to leave as no food had arrived let alone the kids noodles we had specifically requested over 90 mins ago.
Terrible communication and such a disappointing visit.
If you are understaffed, reduce the menu but critically look after your tables sat in the actual restaurant rather than than greedily taking more takeaway orders.
Left frustrated, tired and hungry after an hour and a...
