Fish Chips & More — Restaurant in Great Yarmouth

My family and I dined in last Saturday and I must say we will NEVER go back. We ordered 2 medium haddock, 1 large chips and 2 kids nugget buckets but what we got was 2 x cod and chips, 2 x nugget buckets & 1 extra portion of chips at a cost of £32!! The young girl who took our order had to confirm what we ordered & still couldn’t get it right. When our food arrived I told the girl in the restaurant that our order was wrong and her answer was “we can’t take food back” in a rather snotty manner. We were talking about it & I looked over at the two girls who were the servers and they were clearly talking to each other about us. I’m appalled at the cost of food, the taste of the food & the staff. The batter on my “haddock” was not cooked right & it was also very dry. I was also appalled that we had to pay 10% extra to sit in & eat. You would expect plates & proper cutlery but no. Our food was served in cardboard trays with wooden cutlery. Food is good here but is over priced compared to other fish shop the fish and chip shop the corner great yarmouth would not serve my family food so we had to go to this fish bar i was disappointed with how the corner fish shop was not serving my family food when when they had food cooked and serving other customers the price may be slightly more expensive but i now know why the prices are higher here now its because there service is 10x better i am happy to pay the service cost at the fish bar even if its over priced because its the principle they provide a better service and was more helpful so i recommed everyone to go to this fish bar in great yarmouth they are 10x better than the corner fish and chip shop and i was disappointed in there service i honestly don't know how they could even get 5 star reviews if they cannot serve family real disappointment but for this fish bar i will give 4 stars because they showed good service so i will be happy to go here again forget the corner fish and chip shop...

Overall food was nice. Had a 4 day break and we visited all 4 times. 4th day food wasn't as nice as the first 3, but it was still decent enough. The sausage is very tasty, chips are cooked good and the fish was OK, a little hit and miss the 4th visit it was abit undercooked and soggy however the other times it was cooked to perfection. Yes it's expensive by no means and averaged 45quid for 2 adults and 3 kids but for one it's next to the beach, two they have to cover the winter season, and three even the chipshops local to where I'm from are rip off for poor food so I had no complaints. The young girl taking the orders needs some customer service skills, moody and snappy and kept mishearing what I was saying and rolling her eyes and huffing about it, but that's her problem not mine.
