Five & Lime — Restaurant in Guildford

Shocking service last night. We decided to go to this bar because we wanted to go to a cocktail bar. When we went to order a cocktail the young girl behind the bar said we dont sell cockatails on Fridays and Saturdays because its busy. Dont put cocktail menus out everywhere if you are not going to serve cocktails. She was really rude and there were a lot of people at the bar who wanted cocktails. She eventually got the manager who said "I can do what I want, I own the place". Everyone was shocked with his response as he clearly didnt care about what the customers wanted. If you are not going to sell cocktails on Fridays and Saturdays then you need to make this clear and if it was a one off it wouldnt have been so bad but to be told we never sell them on fridays and saturdays is unacceptable. What a cracking little venue. Really stylish, funky vibe and good music. Love the cocktails. We went here as it was recommended to us by a friend and my wife seems to remember this place having club nights. Being a Tuesday we did not think much would be going on but it was still bouncing even with only a few people. We were recommended the peach daiquiri which was sublime. Really nice flavor and presented very well. I hear they serve food but I didn't see any. I enquired about venue hire and it is possible. They have a lovely garden space packed with small subwoofers all around, I imagine Five & Lime sounds pretty good when they get it pumping. The staff are really nice and after a couple we went to get some food somewhere else but couldn't help coming back for another drink after! Highly recommend this place. I usually love Five and Lime and I go there a lot with my friends on the weekend. However, this Saturday I felt extremely uncomfortable and so did my boyfriend with the way the way I was greeted by the bouncer at the front door. I was wearing a cowl neck dress and was told by the bouncer that I was drunk because I looked indecent. (I was not drunk). This was just the way my dress was meant to sit. After I “fixed” the dress position, he allowed me to enter, but honestly his comment rlly got to me that i literally cried and left with my boyfriend. Service was amazing at the bar as usual.
