I was greeted warmly at the restaurant. I sat inside and told them I'm here because my friend recommended and I also read good reviews. I looked through the menu and thought to order Whole grilled Sea bass. I thought as it is grilled food, it will be served with salad and sauce. After a long wait, a plate arrived with two pieces of Seabass than a whole one. Alongside there was a portion of boiled rice, three small bowls of olives, chilli and garlic mayonnaise. Pitta was also served. I'm not sure what they were expecting me to eat that pitta and bolied rice with? I then requested them if they can provide me with some sort of gravy that I can use as I find it too dry. He said he only have this chilli sauce but can give me lamb gravy if I like. I said okay. Gravy arrived and I somehow managed to eat salty rice with. At the end I gave my feedback to the host that I didn't think this was a good combination. I was expecting Salad with grilled fish. He said some people have it with salad. He said I should've told him that I want it with Salad. I responded by saying that it was my first time, he should've asked me if I wanted it with rice or salad as I didn't know. He simply said ask next time. He gave me the bill of £17:50 for a dinner I didn't really enjoy. Although he also gave me a 15% discount for next visit but it is highly unlikely that I will go there again or if I did, I may stick to their standard meat items and never fish. A disappointing experience ruining my high...
Read moreWow. I have not enjoyed food as much I did at this place in a long time. Every single thing I ordered was 10/10. I wish my stomach was an endless pit so I could eat the whole menu. They have a great variation of meat and vegetarian options. I especially enjoyed their spicy potato and the falafel and halloumi wrap which was seasoned so nicely and not dry. Their portions are also huge and ingredients are fresh so you definitely get your moneys worth. I need to try their deserts next time, they look amazing, but I was too full hahaha. The staff are very accommodating and helpful and if you are unsure of what to get or what things mean they are more than happy to help. The two lady waitresses had impeccable service and I was lucky enough to meet the owner and he was very professional and friendly. He should be very proud of this amazing restaurant.
The interior was also very beautiful I love all of the gold and the music created an amazing ambiance. It is lovely to experience other cultures especially in a place like Guildford where things tend to be...
Read moreWe went on a weekday late evening. It is one of two middle Eastern restaurant in a 500 metre range. We had passed by this restaurant very many times, and it always looked appealing from outside. This time we had the opportunity to try it out. The restaurant is a small one, typical of any high street eatery. We ordered a mixed grill and mixed shawarma. The mixed grill came with a special spicy sauce that elevated the grill. It had quite a few ingredients that made the sauce stand out. The mixed shawarma was equally flavourful... Possibly the best shawarma in Guildford. The quantity was of the shawarma was short of filling, while the mixed grill is something that more than one person can eat. To round it off, we ordered Knafe or kunaffa. It is cheesy cake generally topped with vermicelli and sugar syrup. Though the vermicelli was not there for the Knafe, it didn't take away anything from it, and it was totally worth it. I would like to see beef also in there menu... Nevertheless it is a place where one can go for...
