Nuro — Restaurant in Guildford

Don't go if you are a woman on your own. My husband was a regular for years then I came so many times with my husband over the last 6 years. He knew all the staff and would make the effort to talk with them every time.

My husband died in November and today was the first dinner I took myself out for. I chose to come to Nuro because it was one of my husband's favourite restaurants.

When the waiter was seating me I asked if I could sit by the wall on what happened to be a table for 4. He said yes. Straight after me a couple walked in and they were seated and given menus. I sat watching without a menu. Then the same waiter took their order. Still I'm watching with no menu.

Then I asked another waiter for a menu. He went to get the menu then looked around the half empty restaurant. He looked annoyed and asked me to move to a smaller table in the middle of the restaurant. I told him the other waiter said I can sit here. Still he insisted I move "because we MIGHT get busy".

I told him not to worry and I walked out. I had never felt so humiliated and embarrassed. I get its a Saturday but I am one person. I wouldv eaten my meal in less than an hour.

Just be nice to people. If someone is alone their money, custom or comfort isn't worth any less than couples or groups.

I will not be stepping foot in this restaurant again.

Presentation of food is great

I travelled from London to try this place and was very disappointed and not Impressed.

On the website it's says they serve Turkish food but this not the case.

Food with no flavour and It felt like they where not happy to have customers.

They have large menu but don't have all the food.

When requested Turkish tea they said we are too busy after the meal. Restaurant was not full and busy.

Salad and bread is normally amazing at grill restaurants but this was disappointing and not the case. Salads mostly contain onions few tomato with limited greens and pitta bread instead of tasty bread.

Service is none or should I say poor. Staff had limited food knowledge.

Meat and chicken cut are small and food served in small portions.

Handling of food when cooking. Both Uncooked meat and chicken are cooked together and handled together with out washing hands each time.

Drinks cans where dented and I will understand if that is case for one can of drink but it was 3 cans of drink where dented. It's highly important for presentation / business image.

Parking is available on single yellow.

Hand wash Rooms and toilets facility very dirty and this says a lot about a business.

Decor in the eating in area was not appealing.

For the food served its expensive £££.

I don't recommend and best to avoid until they make the important...

Had a Terrible service from this place tonight. We have been here lots before and it is normally ok. The food is ok if not a little expensive for a very average kebab shop. Service normally takes a long time......the take away customers seem to take priority over people eating in, so you can expect to wait half an hour for food if you do eat in. This evening we ordered food for 6 and only food for 4 people can out half an hour later!! We kept getting told the other 2 meals were coming but they finally realised after 4 of us were nearly finished that they had forgo8the other 2!! We were then told we could have a chicken kebab and a Lamb kebab straight away or wait 10 minutes for a chicken shush as per order. No real apologies just a bad attitude to boot. We asked to be billed individually which they also forgot and then could not give us the correct change.....short of course. Food was average service was terrible and the attitude was bad. We will never return as they can't be trusted...
