Me and my friend went there today and we brought in our own sandwiches but we were still going to order coffee, we have done this before and it has never been an issue. As we where eating, one of the staff members happened to face-plant the floor and dropped her broom, me and my friend where trying to be polite and mind our own business but my friends happened to laugh a bit at what happened, I would like to point out that at this point we hadn’t ordered our coffees yet, once she had gotten up I think she had noticed that we had laughed a bit and ended up kicking us out for ‘not ordering anything’ even after we tried explaining that we where going to order something, we will be going back there next time just...
Read moreI’ve used this coffee shop a lot over the years and it has always been very good but recently it has gone down hill. I visited about a month ago and the coffee machine was leaking all over the floor and the staff didn’t feel like they could stop as apparently the owners would be angry. The floor was a mess and clearly a safety hazard. I visited again today and the food portions have shrunk and the service is slow. I ordered a sausage roll and what used to be two sausages has now shrunk to 3 halves and the roll has also shrunk to a chewy cob. Sad to see this place go down hill but I think this is...
Read moreThis is fast becoming my 'go to' coffee shop and favoured venue for meeting friends for lunch. It's just round the corner from the King's Church offices hosted by Christ Church Waterden Road (where I work). And so it's convenient. But it's more than that. The staff are terrific. Properly servant hearted. The pulled pork ciabata is to die for. The coffee is good. And service is swift. One thing that's marginally less than ideal and (to be fair) there's little they can do about it is that it's hard to have a private conversation because the tables are tightly packed.
