Forwarding this review to note that I have reached out via Facebook to see if we could resolve my complaints from when my partner and I impulsively visited for the first time on Saturday evening. However, my message has been ignored, leaving us further upset with the customer service provided by this restaurant. When we arrived, we were seated quite quickly despite being busy inside and out, and awaiting a large booking due to the reserved table. Our order was taken quite quickly, but our first disappointment was when our starter was delivered before our drinks, which came several minutes later. At this point we agreed that it was busy and chef was probably just getting through things in anticipation for the large booking to arrive. Once we finished our starer, we then waited around 45 minutes for our main course, in which time we were not approached at all to clear our starters or to check in, despite our frequent attempts of catching eye contact with the waiting staff. It became clear at one point that we had been forgotten when all staff were discussing us, evident by looking in our direction and discreet pointing, and yet still our starters remain uncleared. Eventually, our main course arrived, but embarrassingly to an uncleared table, causing us to have to help the waitress juggle plates, nor did we receive an apology for such the lengthy wait. However, we were once again avoided, we suspect deliberately this time out of embarrassment, and no further contact was made despite our drinks running empty quite some time before. A catastrophic loss of income on their part due to my drinking of tequila sunrises at a cost of £8.90 and not the £7.50 as advertised on the board, of which I would have happily ordered 2 or 3 more without question of the cost. During our meal, our upsets kept stacking up in several ways. The table beside us remained uncleared for half hour, despite being frequently walked past, and a bottle of chemical cleaner being placed on it. The large booking received great service and had at least 2 offers of being able to order more drinks. The table behind us received an apology over the wait on their food, despite this being a lot less than ours. We encountered 2 ants on our table. In the end, feeling completely unwanted I approached the staff at the kitchen asking for our bill and a take away box, which surprisingly we did not have to wait for. I explained why we were unhappy, and yet we did not receive any attempt of an apology, not even “I’m sorry” even after I explained that I was empathetic as it was an incredibly hot and busy day having done the same job before, so I understood this weather makes it hard work. To add the final insult, we were ignored for the final time as we left. Our experience has been a real disappointment as the food was nothing but fantastic. But with so many great eateries with far superior hospitality in the area, we are unlikely to return, especially since I’ve reached out, and again...
Read moreAbsolutely fabulous restaurant with wonderful food and staff who couldn't do enough for us. We celebrated my daughter's 11th birthday here this evening, a group of 4 adults and another 2 younger children. Her mother and stepdad had been before and suggested yaaze as a good venue for the quality of the food and the welcoming atmosphere and they weren't wrong!!
The whole place has a wonderfully relaxed welcoming feel. The decor is fresh and inviting, and the food is out of this world. The owner/chef and his team welcomed us and could not have been better hosts. The menu has something for everyone, and the team waited on us attentively but were not intrusive in any way. The food is out of this world with a mix of hot and cold meze (individually and platters), burgers, mains and a solid children's menu. I have to say though, the 'adult' menu is so varied and tasty that, while it is always good to have the tried and tested kids' standards as a back up, you shouldn't need it, and the meze menu lends itself to kids picking and nibbling the same great food as the adults.
We had a meze platter for the whole table that the 4 adults and my 2 younger (1 and 3 years) picked at too while my eldest had one of the best halloumi burgers I have ever tasted! The mainly veggie food we had (there is also meat available) was incredible and all produced freshly on site. The flavours are great, and the presentation is good and unpretentious. In terms of portions, the meze were all good sizes, and replenished on request. The mains some of the other customers had all looked delicious, and a very good portion size. I don't think anybody left hungry tonight! The staff even packed up what wasn't eaten, and I shall have a good lunch tomorrow too!
Definitely worth visiting, if you are after a relaxed and friendly restaurant with incredible food and friendly staff in an impeccably clean and inviting surrounding, and let's face it - who isn't?! I cannot recommend...
Read moreWonderful service, kind and friendly staff who were willing to cater to my fussiness. The menu had an abundance of choice from small nibbles to full meals and a good balance of English, Mediterranean and Turkish foods available.
The decor was beautiful, it was bright and they had made good use of the small and oddly shaped floor plan.
The kitchen areas were visible and were very clean and tidy, glass counters displaying the many foods on offer created the counter space and allowed us an opportunity to see the freshness and excellent quality of the produce we'd be consuming.
They had a wide array of drinks, hot and cold, including fresh smoothies. I ordered a Latte which was perfect. I'd return for the coffee alone!
Pricing wasn't the cheapest around, but it was far from the most expensive, I'd say the cost was mid range and you're definitely tasting the quality with the extra cost. Everything was fresh and well made and well presented.
My only negative was the particular seat I chose was right by a window and I was uncomfortably hot from the direct sunlight coming through the floor to ceiling glass. This would not deter me from returning, I would think differently on my seating next visit though.
I cannot speak for whether this place was child friendly. The look and feel of the place is very mature and chic, it is cozy due to its limited space and therefore I don't feel it would be the best place for my child with his particular needs. However, the takeaway service and the beach opposite does make the food...
