The only redeeming quality of this Wetherspoons is the food as you know the quality of food youāre ordering. Went on a busy day a few weeks ago with a couple of mates. After ordering our food one mate of mine had a duplicate of his small plate brought to the table as well as his food heād originally ordered. He went to the bar to request a refund as he had not ordered 2 of the same thing but the app had added an additional order on top. The guy at the bar was in no mood to accept the refund so instantly denied his request without even making any form of effort, after my mate had asked why he was told the āmanagerā would come over and speak to him at the table to assist with the issue. The āmanagerā then showed up and after speaking to my friend accepted the refund but claimed that my friend was at fault and if he had ordered double of a regular meal they would not have been able to process his refund. Baring in mind the last time I had visited this Weatherspoons my other mate who was also there today and encountered the same issue and instantly got refunded. After we had spoken to the āmanagerā for the rest of the time we where at this spoons all of the staff kept looking over at us and commenting to one another as our table was visible from the kitchen/food prep area. As I previously said we had visited on a relatively busy day which lead to us finding a table in the corner against the wall and youād have to fully push the table out the way to get in and out of the 2 cushioned seats this would have been a major issue if we where required to evacuate the building quickly due to a fire. Just go to the McDonaldās or KFC or the independent restaurants or shops in the area. At least then youād have a more enjoyable time as Iād bet the staff members would be more polite and accepting to...

Service was relatively quick considering the amount of customers eating there. Food was typical, big standard Wetherspoons, mine wasn't hot enough, but still ate it all, filled the gap & their high standards of attention to allergies & vegetarian/vegan etc. concerns was lived up to. Friendly & helpful staff. The bar looked a little thin on the ground to take the orders along with visits for more drinks, cutlery etc but they did very well to cope with the rush they had. Comfy seating, if not a little threadbare & in need of a good clean! Toilets were exemplary in this area, spotless & fresh & plenty of them! I would bear in mind though, that toilets for men/women=children are up 2 flights of stairs. There is a disabled toilet (not sure if it has changing facilities for babies) but it can only be used with a radar card, so not exactly easily accessible & difficult for single parents I feel. Nice setting though, good kids menu & activity sheets. Free papers to read. The obligatory free coffee refil station was inconveniently placed in front of the only access to toilets, which caused a bit of crowding. Overall, a nice place to stop & have lunch, or a few coffees, TV projector screen for the big matches, news & on the day we were there, the big boat race. If you like to eat at Wetherspoon l, this place will have everything you're used to. Can read up about John Logie from the displays around the pub, which, for a tourist was very informative. Nice porch on the front of building, I'm sure is better & more popular when the sun is shining, but thos place was Not Short...
Read moreThis was my first time in a Weatherspoon pub-restaurant, knowingly anyway. A colleague took me there for lunch last week. Recently, I have been taking with me a lunch box with bits in it to get me going during the day at work. Basically, i cant afford anymore to go out for lunch, therefore that day i had 7 miserable quid with me and feared i wouldnt get much for that price, even in a pub. Well, what a surprise: i could afford most of the starters which were served either as a starter portion, either as a main course size. And further more, for a few pennies extra you have a soft drink included that you can refill at will..! I choose a jacket potatoe and a soft drink for altogether £5.49 !! This is even cheaper than a McDonald's where a medium meal cost around £6. Ok, you don't get the famous fries that turn into cardboard before they get cold but hey, where would you prefer having lunch? In a cool pub downtown, served by charming waitresses or in a MacDo where everything is designed for you NOT to stay, so more seats are available. Youvwill notice next time you decide to dine in a Macdonald: tables and chairs are lower than the standard high, making you less comfortable. And how about the official colours of these fzst food? Yellow and red, two bright clashing colours which contribute to their cunning plan: having you in-and-out as quick as possible! The choice is clear, not to mention the quality of the food and the decent choice of dishes for an afordable price. I will return, no doubt, and I recommend a Weatherspoon pub to all of us, skint but alive who still care about comfort, ambiance, service and...
