Kingfisher — Restaurant in Hastings

If I could give LESS THAN 1 STAR I most certainly would. I made my order which included 1/4lb burger with no cheese, admittedly on a Friday evening which was going to take an hour for delivery. An hour and 10 minutes passed so I had to call, it was then delivered a couple of minutes later but it was cold, the driver disagreed. I opened it and tried a chip.....which was lukewarm and found I had a burger with cheese and so I called again, they got the driver to return and said they would redo my order and get it to me quicker this time. 48 minutes later another driver brought it to the door in the polystyrene box, he gave it to me making comment the my last delivery was still warm when it got back to the restaurant but they have redone. It was warmer so prepared to eat only to find my dammed burger had cheese in it.....arrrrrr! So called again, the guy on the end of the phone was so rude, he said that my order did not say no cheese and that the last delivery was warm even when it was returned. I explained that when I called back the first time to complain I told them that the burger was wrong because it had cheese in it so asked how they could get it wrong again even if the first person wrote it down wrong. He then said well I'm not going to do anything about it because he was shutting, I told him his menu says they don't shut till 11.45pm, it was 10.10pm at this point, he then rudEly said well I'm not doing anything! I asked when and what he was going to do about it to which he said I would have to call back tomorrow and speak to the manager. I asked for the managers name and his and he said I not giving you any names and the call was ended. ***I WOULD NOT USE THIS DISGUSTING COMPANY FOR ANYTHING IF I WERE YOU I will be returning my burger for the very least my money...

Quick service. Very polite and helpful. There were noise issues at times. Staff talking at desk very loudly just socialising with a customer but they didnt think about paying customers sitting behind them. Alot of delivery persons in and out. Smoking just out front. So atmosphere was not do good at times. Floor does need cleaning properly. Generally the work areas and service areas are clean and tidy. The food was very nice. Quality sausages. Cod roe very good. Chips were nice to. Prices average . I would go back again hopefuly less noise

Review 2 ….. We mostly enjoyed our food last time so we went back in... Lovely new sign Greasy menu - Clean tables – dirty floor – wonky floor at the front Radio on which is great but not when the staff are also shouting- there were several members of staff shouting, especially the person cooking. They seem like very nice people but didn’t consider some people would like to eat in a nice environment. The swearing, grouping together socialising and shouting let it down. The server was very polite and helpful. Its not just about good food. The environment needs to change. The chips were small compared to last time. Lovely big cod roe. Fish is lovely. Batter plain. Battered sausages tasty just needed a bit more cooking inside. Made with korkers. A lot of herbs. Curry sauce is nice. Tomato sauce is to sweet. Good prices Lots of seating. Approx 40

KINGFISHER 2 on Saturday 27/4/19 5pm-ish: so yesterday I popped in and asked for Large Cod with Regular Chips x2 (with pickled onion and curry sauce) - the guy cooking the food was rude with a really negative vibe about him and the lad serving was trying to be friendly, nervously - what annoyed me was when I got home with the food the cod was tiny and the chips were virtually non existent!! the lad would have seen the food portions and said nothing!! the cook was so busy wheeling and dealing on his mobile he didn't care about customer service or quality of food!! what a shame as they were so friendly and professional when they first opened so my advice is purchase through an app so you can get a full refund if Mr Bad-Mood is cooking or check portions before leaving - esp if you live a bit away from the place!! I MIGHT TRY 'EM AGAIN BUT I DOUBT IT!!
