Very friendly barman, cook and resident dog, Bonnie. We hadn't booked a table for a Friday Lunch for 6 people but we got seated straight away. A lovely real fire crackling to warm us up. The menu was decent with all the usual staples and the food was absolutely spot on. Nicest burger I've had in a long while. The pub seems to be divided into two main indoor areas, the Lounge (incorporting the restaurant) and the Bar (eith pool table, darts & Sky TV. Ideal for hungry/ thirsty walkers or tourists to Ingleton wanting great no-frills pub and grub!!

Absolutely vile staff, 6 drinks bought and told to leave gave us small plastic cups to pour our drinks into that weren't even big enough, doesn't appreciate her locals never mind passers by makes this nice little place look a dump. Stopped serving food at 8:30 so we went and got takeaway and returned for a couple of drinks absolutely no problem anywhere else we've been in this country. Causing problems just for the sake of it.

Had lunch here. When for the roast beef and Yorkshire puddings. Was all delicious. Not sure why there are roast potatoes + mashed potatoes + sweet potatoes all on the plate. Perhaps a carrot or two are needed to avoid potato overdose? Decent quality food either way. Service was quick and efficient and staff friendly. Toilets clean. Kids menu available.

I booked two rooms back in March through Booking.com for a 2-night stay in September for myself and two friends to do the Yorkshire 3 peaks walk. I phoned the Craven Heifer to confirm our arrival time this Friday to be told that the rooms we booked are unavailable due to work being done on them. Apparently Booking.com shouldn’t have accepted my booking. Thank goodness I phoned because otherwise we would have turned up on Friday evening to find we had no rooms! The landlord told me this has happened before with Booking.com bookings and I now have to try to get my money back from them which they took last week! This seems to be an ongoing issue between Bookings.com and the Craven Heifer but if it results in people finding themselves without their booked accommodation the night before the 3 Peaks walk then it needs resolving. I’m just relieved I phoned ahead as we have been able to find an alternative but the landlord said it wouldn’t have been easy to find an alternative if we’d had to on Friday evening. I don’t know who is in the wrong here but just be warned if you have booked your rooms through Booking.com or a third party...

Been tonight for a meal. Food came and my friend thought I had ordered child's portions. Small serving is an understatement. Food was not cooked through so sent it back only to find that my scampi had been refried with tartar sauce on, so asked for more and got told they had run but would go to the shop. This would mean my food would be cold by the time I got my sauce. A teaspoon of peas on the side, what a joke... No protein in this meal. Complained and was offered one of the meals free. Paid the bill to find out we had been charged for 2 meals so returned again to complain and totally confused the bar staff who were more interested in showing flesh than apologising and showing customer satisfaction. Got given £1.95 and told I had been charged for one drink. I explained that the receipt showed two drinks so she refunded me £1.95.....again I explained that the meal was £8.95 and this sent her into a total tizz as she struggled to work out the bill less the £8.95. I informed her that I was appalled and requested that this be passed on to the manager... Not the country pub I was looking for and will not...

Had a lovely lunch here today. The weather was appalling so decided to treat ourselves to a pub lunch. After looking at reviews for pubs in the area we settled on The Craven Heifer and I’m so pleased we did. A lovely warm welcome from the owner who offered us a couple of seating options to accommodate me and my wife, two children and a dog. My son and I went for the steak and ale pie which was amazing! I’m very picky with my meat and don’t like fatty bits but I didn’t need to worry. Beautiful, tender meat in a rich gravy and with the best chips I’ve ever had in a pub. Apparently the landlady does them herself by hand and is particularly proud of them and rightly so. They were fabulous. My wife had scampi which she really enjoyed and my younger, fussy son had the chicken nuggets. He finished the lot which says speaks volumes to how good they were.

A big thank you to The Craven Heifer for making a wet and windy day much brighter. We won’t hesitate to call again when we are...
