Dexter Smash Burgers — Restaurant in Kirklees

Ordered on Uber eats on a Sunday morning at 1am. App stated estimated time of arrival as 1-35 latest. Food hadn’t arrived so at approx 1-50 I called smash burger and spoke to someone asking them if the food was on its way. They told me yes they were waiting on the wings and would be sending the food with a driver within 10 mins. It came to half 2 and the food still had not arrived. I rang the takeaway several times and got no answer as I wanted to cancel my order. The app would not let me and they had took so long at this point 2-45 I’d ordered from elsewhere as I was unsure if the food would actually arrive. The place was shown as closed on Google and nobody answered the phone despite me calling over 30 times.

The food arrived at 3-15, 2 hours 15 mins after I had ordered. Bear in mind this is the first time Iv ordered from this place and it was a hefty order so I assumed they’d want to make an impression. The delivery driver had no idea I’d been waiting so long....

For months, my friend has been doing my head in about this joint. He did set the expectation that, it can be a bit of a wait for the food. I’d have to give it a try... 🤷‍♂️

Moving on, I had ordered between 3 of us, a smash burger each, 2 portion of tenders and a box of loaded fries. Let me tell you, wow!

The burger was perfect... clean, soft and cooked to perfection with a hint of paprika. The salad and sauce was delicious. The tenders were unbelievable at the right temperature and the crispiest chicken I’ve had. The sauces are very nice; the honey mustard, burger sauce & garlic complimented the food.

Ps no short cuts leaving FAT/grease on the meat!

I will be revisiting again. The locals/students should be honoured to have a joint like this in their local. Make the most of it.

Absolutely appalling service! I ordered my food plain and asked for only cheese on my burger. Order came and had salad and sauce all over so I rang the shop and told them it's ment to be only cheese they then send me a new order covered in sauce... yet again my order is wrong so I rang back and was told that because I said plain cheese burger and didn't specify no sauce that ment he puts sauce on a plain burger and then told me that when I say just cheese it could mean no meat or bread too so supposedly it's my fault and he hung up the phone. I did however get the whole conversation on record. The way he spoke to me as a customer was disgusting safe to say that was the last time I ever order from here and I will be sharing the video with everyone else and telling them to avoid this place...
